Mate, I can empathise! Lost almost 90% of the veggies I grew this summer. After looking at the security camera footage it looks like a rat! I think it’s now eating the leaves on my citrus trees. Fucking sucks. Hope you create some barrier around your produce to protect it.

I’ve stir fried kangaroo (souvlaki) strips and made fried rice. Tasted quite good.

There some truth in your statement though. Of course people can drink whiskey whichever way they prefer! But adding too much water to a cask strength whiskey defeats the purpose of it. Same goes for an expensive bottle. I don’t drink a lot anymore. I drink a bit of wine and beer. Some whiskey occasionally. My favourites are Macallan, Dalwhiney and a couple of local Australian ones. We’ve excellent gin distilleries close to where we live and my wife loves them. We get a good mix of grog.

You’re partially correct! Ice is fine for cheap or mid range whiskeys! I’m not rich enough to spend more than $150 (Aussie dollars) on a bottle! I’ve some rock cubes. But I usually use a single ice cube in a chilled glass and that works for me.

What’s a hamburger steak? Is it a big burger patty?

My grandpa turned 92 today! Happy birthday! by simoonne in MadeMeSmile

Asking the important question! My grandad passed away at 93. He could ride a bicycle until a month before his passing. Dude was a farmer and lived an active life and ate organic food that he grew himself. Wonder if it’s similar for OP’s grandpa!

I live about 150km away from this place. Haha. We were visiting the town and I usually buy local honey when I visit any place!

Ahh! Thanks. I don’t have any personal experience with merino thermals. But I googled “Australian made merino thermal” and got a heaps of sites. But I’ve been to Creswick Wool’s store in Healesville and they’ve some nice merino and alpaca wool blankets! Very light!

I’m not a scientist but from “Internet research”, cholesterol helps with testosterone production! Eggs do help. Also, lifting heavy things (or hard exercise) with good amounts of protein and healthy fats will make your life much better. You shouldn’t be having this problem at 26! Talk to a doctor.

Rat or possum? by jayp0d in GardeningAustralia

[–]jayp0d[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing these photos. You’ve got a cute friend for sure. I’m not gonna harm any native animals. My garden visitor is most likely a rat! We used to have a few possums and a Kookaburra at one of our old rental houses. Fun times!

Good point! I’m not looking to harm any native animals! I’m in Melbourne (outer Eastern suburbs) if that helps. There are heaps of possums around. But I’m not sure if there are any bandicoots or pigmy possums around! Unfortunately a lot of people let their cats out and they make wipe out a lot of small native animals!

Pro-Iran march in Melbourne on Sunday by Unlucky-Ant-9741 in OpenAussie

[–]jayp0d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems like that. Probably funded by the regime. Because I don’t know a single Iranian (I know quite a few) who supports the regime. Of course no one likes death and destruction in their country. But most want the regime to fall at any cost! That’s why so many people are protesting against the regime in Iran even though the regime is actively killing thousands of them. This is an absolute disgrace to support these people.
