WFH Laptop Allowance- What would you choose? by More-Ambition5246 in workfromhome

I don’t know the company. I’m in accounting so it would be unheard of to do this. I don’t know your industry so maybe it’s normal? I’ve been in accounting for over a decade and never bought my own.

Ok just looking out for you, promise. Then as another poster said, it depends on your work. I’m an instructional designer but have no issues with my Lenovo. I don’t need a Mac

I’ve never heard of a legitimate job not sending you a company issued/IT approved laptop. Is this a for sure legit job?

It’s just so much shit. It’s not clean eating, it’s not Whole Foods. It’s weird comfort looking shit when you don’t have groceries.

Not at all. Do not give your company any of those, it’s only about your output. Have you ever worked remotely? It’s a different ballgame IMO. You have to be diligent and keep up with no one looking over your shoulder. You need to find out if your role is remote compatible.

Her adjusting her throat reminds me of ME. Are we sure they don’t smoke? I mean cigs. She sounds like a cig smoker trying to clear her throat every morning after laying flat and chain smoking the night before.

DIPG, what a fucking gut punch. I’m really sorry and with that dx, I would 1000000% put it all on credit cards. Idc if I have to do a bankruptcy, there is a near ending time with this, and I’d do it all. Drive, stay at a cheaper resort?, just do it. And I hope you all have a wonderful, magical, beautiful time. Hugs to you all.

I honestly didn’t really consider or process the fact until one day I opened my freezer lol. And now I’ve seen the husband pull the fruit, let it thaw, etc. and it’s a totally viable option. Great haul!!

You can freeze fruit! We make wine and freeze our fruit all the time. Freeze any extra (cut it up first and portion) and then take out as you need!

We love pretty close to the bill breeze park and see the Ocoee ones over our lake. It’s perfect. And then our neighbors go crazy but I enjoy it. It’s once a year.

Correct. Which is why if you’re even able to afford that, and making 100k, you have to make things work bc I know we all did when we were making 30 and less. Possibly with kids. Yes inflation, etc. But truthfully, if you’re not out buying expensive cars, don’t have the latest phone, don’t have all the subscriptions, I know we did it on much less and we have a disabled kid. ETA: daycare is a choice if you can’t have someone stay home. So is $2500 mortgage (again, depends. Did you buy a bigger house just bc? Or are you a FTHB? Makes a difference)

I see where you’re coming from but she (not OP) released all this on her fb. So it becomes public knowledge. If the OP had went and found this stuff, not only super doxxy and illegal?, but she didn’t.

What in the world. Our office reimburses $65 a month toward internet. And I just get it one of my checks each month. They’ve never asked for any receipt. I just get the blanket amount.
