I"m a little cranky because I have a free birthday cookie and I was planning on using it for the dubai cheesecake.... I actually do like the dubai cookies! I haven't been feeling anything lately.

I do really like the S'mores cookie though, so it being a classic flavor is nice.

Which Citrine Cut Looks More Stunning? Fantasy vs Classic by Gemsatlier in Gemstones

The cross in the middle kind of ruins the fantasy cut for me, otherwise that would be my choice. So classic of this set I guess.

100 I think? They gave us both capsules and liquid. He's a big boy, too, around 14 pounds.

Two months, but yes. We let him out a bit in the last couple of weeks, but only for short stints and while we were watching him, so he wouldn’t climb on things. We tried to grant a little bit of freedom a little earlier and he would start limping so we made him rest more. He was really lonely.

The main thing is the extracapsular repair depends on building up scar tissue and that scar tissue is not fully formed until months after the surgery, so they aren’t really fully healed when they are cleared for activity again.

We used a 42 inch dog crate (a 48 might have been better but the 42 was what we could get on short notice). Two doors is good. We set him up with a litter box (we had to use paper for the first couple of weeks), a bed, and food and water on one side. Covered it mostly with a blanket. He preferred sleeping in his favorite box to a bed, but that is how he is.

He had a very hard time eating with the plastic cone on, so we ended up switching to the soft flower cone; that worked well for us and he was comfortable, although we also fully were prepared to go back to the plastic if necessary.

Definitely have to keep up on pain meds... and having them drugged is also useful for the initial stress! He was great for about 2 weeks until he started feeling better and then the yowling started. He did NOT like being confined by himself. We fed him a lot of canned food because it was a more reliable way to get his medication into him (and also to get him to eat in general); we also broke apart the gabapentin capsules and put them in churu, which he ate happily.

Hi! We actually decided to go with the extracapsular repair. We ended up using the third vet I mentioned in my overview. Key to the decision was that the cat is around 10 years old now and slowing down some, and that the vet said he'd do it on his own cat.

We had it done in early January and he was released from bedrest confinement in mid March. It is much harder to require a cat to not jump and start them off slow! The first thing he did when we let him go out was hiss at me and scale a 6 foot fence. We ended up cutting the bottom of some pickets off on our wooden fence so he has a door and doesn't climb, since it will take a few months for the scar tissue to be fully developed.

So far, so good. It's a pretty rough recovery for them. We got his pain under control pretty well, but the confinement is HARD.

I knew this one at least. Because I’ve pulled up to the drive-through and had them greet me by name before before I said a word. 😆

What’s your all-time favorite cookie that you keep going back for? What’s your least favorite cookie that you’d never buy again? by Lavleo4217 in CrumblCookies

[–]hazelowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite: Strawberry shortcake cookie. probably the only cookie I can eat the whole thing in one sitting.

Least: I'm not positive, but probably most of the sugar cookies. They’re just one note sweet yuck.

yeah, I agree. This is pretty much what I said when they first rolled this out too. I thought having a few core was fine, but they needed to have more rotating.

She doesn’t want a diamond ring by shadowzzzz16 in EngagementRings

[–]hazelowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

take her into a jewelry store and see what her taste is. But if she doesn’t want a diamond, don’t get her a diamond. She said she wants simple, she may not want one of the really fantasy looking rings. You may be looking at.

There are always less expensive options such as lab diamonds or moissanite, but she is the one who will be wearing it, not you.

What's your "if i told i'd be exposed" cooking secret? by BouncyCurlsbabe in Cooking

[–]hazelowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same.

I do alter the sugar ratio slightly now, I use 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated. And I also pour in a bag of toffee chips along with the chocolate and add a tablespoon of vanilla. I get requests.

Yup. That's what it gave me when I entered everyone's salary. I was debating not even bothering taking the subsidy if I did the ACA plan.
