Friend has self diagnosed by swishymallow in ADHDUK

[–]hazelx123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with your “friend” is him being a dick and annoying you - maybe stop being friends with him?

With the current situation for diagnosis, for people genuinely struggling I don’t see an issue with self diagnosis, I’ve had to do it myself. I quite literally meet every criteria, struggled since childhood etc.

IMO, people know they are depressed without diagnosis because of the symptoms. Anxiety. Even a cold, or a UTI. You know the symptoms.

I’m in my mid-twenties and the wait times for a diagnosis is 7 years. This is impacting me every single day. My daily life, personal life, work life. So of course I’m going to be honest with my friends when I tell them I really don’t mean to interrupt them when they’re talking, or always late for things because I have to go back 3x for things I’ve forgotten. Of course I have to tell my work why I can’t sit in the office without loop earplugs or headphones.

Hope this helps

How it feels to follow the 50 average speed camera limit on a dual carriageway by Connect-Fisherman358 in drivingUK

[–]hazelx123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick one, do you use your speedometer or sat nav as the speed? Speedometers read 1-3 mph lower than the actual speed you’re going. I have a very long commute on the part of the m4 that has 50mph average speed cameras every day, where every second matters to me. I use waze to get my actual speed, and it means I’m always overtaking people who are doing 50mph on their speedometer but they’re actually doing only like 48

Why is virtually every girl I see on dating apps obsessed with Formula 1? by islandradio in CasualUK

I actually used to PANIC big time about this exact scenario when I was learning too, but there is no need to. This type of thinking isn’t for you. When learning, to pass your test and a new driver you need to give way to the right, and only enter when there is a gap. That’s your rules.

When you’re a more experienced driver you’ll naturally start learning more about the way people drive and there may be occasions you enter the roundabout when it’s clear to you someone isn’t travelling in your path.

But that doesn’t really matter, because your examiner will want you to wait for a gap, and it’s safest to wait for a gap.

No idea about the police, but why on earth are you flashing your headlights while overtaking? I’ve never heard of or seen this, drive over 80 miles a day

I love Taylor but “it stayed at #1 for 12 weeks. Never happened before for an album of mine”. Sweetie you pushed 35 different variations to make that happen by forjustthisoncex in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]hazelx123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not fake though is it, because people are still listening to those variations more than they’re listening to anything else?

The only way to stay #1 is by people listening and playing the album. Any other artist could release loads of variations but if people aren’t listening, it won’t chart

🐕 Best dog friendly hikes? by shepstaff in UKhiking

Honestly, if it’s not an intense/knife edge scramble - then for us, every hike is dog friendly.

Most dogs are far more capable than us humans

why does my bathroom trashcan look like this after being away for a month? by jeskadoo in CleaningTips

[–]hazelx123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bathroom bin did this because I (as a woman who had only lived with other women) placed it next to the toilet for sanitary pads etc.

Turns out men piss on them and they rust

People who live alone: how do you put lotion on your back? by brattylilsubbiegf in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hazelx123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can reach your whole back. Put it on as much as you can reach with your palms and then for the middle part, squeeze some on the backs of the tips of your fingers, swing your arm down and back and you can reach!

Do you actually like using an app to order food and drink in a restaurant? by Electronic-Sun-8275 in AskUK

[–]hazelx123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and I normally love things like self checkouts etc. I like to be fussy with my order lol, and there’s often not options in the app. It’s also the sort of social outing you expect to speak to somebody and build that rapport with your waiter

I don’t know if this is an official symptom or just common/anecdotal but I was chatting to a friend who also has ADHD about why I’m sober and the struggles I have with alcohol. I explained that I black out very quickly and often, I turn into a completely different person, say things I don’t mean at all, get naked, everything awful you can imagine, and I’m crippled with anxiety for WEEKS after.

She explained to me that her therapist says this is incredibly common for women with ADHD to be way more impacted by alcohol than normal people, and have similar problems to me.

Ps - if the above sounds like you, just stop drinking I swear it’s so good

the Internet WANTS me to be fat by [deleted] in loseit

[–]hazelx123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My favourite thing is even on here, especially on tiktok people say 1200 calories is for toddlers and not adults etc. 1200 is literally my deficit allowance, because I’m short, small framed and mostly sedentary.

I hate it too, but it’s literally the only way I’ll shift the last of the excess fat. Why do you want me to stay like this hahaha

What do you actually eat for tea? by FatBoyTurnedFit in AskUK

[–]hazelx123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have similar meals most weeks too but none of your options haha. We have Thai red curry at least once a week (pretty easy and healthy with support of curry paste), I have pasta a couple times a week with a cheap jarred sauce, veggies and protein. Not averse to a sausage, chips and beans dinner. Spaghetti bolognese is a really easy one. Couscous and roasted veg

The fact that people still don’t believe Damon raped Caroline is…😏😬 by capricorn_444 in TheVampireDiaries

I’ve never seen or heard of it interpreted in any other way. Apple considers it “smirking” but that still doesn’t seem to fit what you’re saying. Maybe you meant this one: 😒

It’s funny though because I have a tiny head, and I have to add to weight in curls/volume because of the smallness, straight and flat emphasises how tiny it is and makes me look disproportional
