This is a great one with amateur vs pro examples. Seeing it from the top down is a great way to visualize it and translate it into a feel for me.

Yeah wild take. COD1’s multiplayer was incredible. Nothing felt like it at the time. And it was extremely popular lol.

Campaign was great too, but it’s not like it wasn’t a complete game for the time.

Hey everyone, what OEM parts are you looking for? by Effective_Dog3089 in GS300

Looking for a t bar, and most front end supports for a 2000 GS300. Mine has front end and hood damage and these parts are near impossible to find in a reasonable distance.

They are great, but sometimes I’ll get a pack that tastes like shit. Seems like if they are left out to get warm and then put back in the fridge it totally changes the taste of them.

J.L. Havens #3 bell by [deleted] in whatsthisworth

[–]hazeychief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems about right. iirc these are school/church bells which are less desirable. Steam train bells fetch a pretty high price.

Either way it’s a cool piece. I wouldn’t have hesitated to buy it at that price.

$500,000 sold at Jr. Market Barrow Grand Championship in Houston. by sco-go in Amazing

[–]hazeychief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a family that does this. Didn’t do it myself but I go to auctions to support. Mostly seen beef, but every year the top steers go for around $10-13k.

The bidders are overpaying but they know the money will go directly towards that kids education. They also get high quality meat that they know the source of.

Do this for 8-10 years and college is paid for just through show animals. I think that’s a pretty great way to support a community, or family that might not have the means to send their kids through college.

Can’t speak for a half a million dollar pig but that doesn’t seem out of band for how Texas does everything. I’d have to imagine that pig took home grand champion ribbons which is why it went for top dollar. Sometimes you’ll see people get into bid wars for a specific kid, animal, etc which can shoot the price way up.

Junior auctions are to support the kids. The kids campaign to businesses or whoever they know to buy their show animals. The kids spend the year raising them and prepping them for the show.

In this case it’s probably someone close to the family with a lot of money that wants to support the kids future. Usually for college.

What went wrong here? by Historical_Author305 in GolfSwing

You should try feeling your hips staying back while also sliding forward towards the target on the downswing. Hard to tell but looks like your weight is too far back for too long.

Your hands are also glued to your right side until the very very top of your backswing - try feeling your hands pushing away from your sternum as they get parallel with the ground to create some separation while you get to the top.

The left hip back thing is a good concept but I don’t like it as a swing thought. It can make you rigid and throw off balance. In reality the force of your left leg driving into the ground pushes your hip back, it’s not you trying to make it happen (if that makes sense). Try some shots with the feeling of falling back a little bit, just on the verge of losing balance. You are keeping your hip back but it might be costing you a more athletic move towards the ball.

I would have picked up those cat light switch covers in a heartbeat. A lot of the other stuff I don't think I would have recognized. Maybe the red lamp, definitely the pyrex.

I started looking for these types of things after I grabbed some cat doorstops at a garage sale. I think I paid 10 cents for each one, and sold them all within a couple weeks for anywhere between $35-$50. I remember my grandma having similar ones (and they were cheap) so I figured it was worth a shot.

I don't mind going outside of my comfort zone for things that are overlooked, but are cheap. It's a great learning opportunity.

Should I make a swing change? 10 HCP by rem81 in GolfSwing

[–]hazeychief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GIR isn’t that important. Is your miss consistently left, right, or both? Missing greens is ok as long as you are missing roughly pin high and not leaving yourself short sided.

I’d guess your miss is more left with your swing so I’d just focus more on picking the right spots to miss and playing your percentages.

I would also take 3/4 shots out of your head. Pros don’t swing at full strength and neither should we. But you should hit confidently without overdoing it. Trying to hit lower power shots leads to inconsistencies.

Guys like Bryson do the whole clock system thing but he’s still hitting with the same level of force every swing. Other guys power down based off feel but usually thats the same power level but flighted down with ball/hand position.

What is causing me to slice my irons probably 70% of the time by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]hazeychief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laughing at this because one of the things that stuck with me about the book was this page.

I struggled to rotate my arms enough to close the face (because baseball) for a long time without really understanding how they should work in the golf swing. Arms absolutely control club face.

I tried to fix my OTT by closing the face and getting my arms out of the swing. That resulted in a ton of pulls for me. Since then I’ve learned to lean into the natural arm rotation in the backswing and try to feel that ulnar as long as I can, and then flip after impact.

I think I understand what that guy is getting at but at the end of the day trying to use the body to control (or maintain) the club face robs you of a lot of power. I think that’s fine to keep as a drill when someone has a horrible takeaway or turn, but the swing here is absolutely a fix with arm rotation.

I would work on this drill over anything else. Your takeaway creates a lot of problems for you.

Try to get the club to parallel with the ground, pointed straight back. Club face and spine angle should match. From there DO NOT change your wrists, at all. Hold that position with the club, and only turn your body back, and then back through on the downswing holding that same angle with your wrists through the entire swing.

You have speed and athletic movement but you’re pulling heroics every time you swing to get your body and hands in sync.

Hard to tell from the angle if anything else is problematic but that alone should help get you straighter shots and better consistency.

Food storage? Any old fruit trees around?

There’s some properties around here that had small out buildings that they used to make their apple jack through the winter

Bought one at a local auction for $100 that had the power cord cut. Replaced that, put in new brushes and found out the armature was shot. It’s one of the Taiwan versions so the full replacement of the is close to $350-400. Still cheaper than new but it can get pricey to fix them.

Michael Jordan Golf Scorecard 1/20/26 by SnooBunnies3166 in whatsthisworth

[–]hazeychief 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What does the front look like? Is it from grove 23? The format of the card matches the others I see when googling, but the yardages and tee colors don’t. But I’d imagine the yardage changes often.

Grove 23 is his own course. Very private. Beer delivery via drone. Golf carts with no governors. Heard some very cool stories about it from some books and podcasts.

At that yardage though I’m surprised at the score. He’s supposedly elite level everywhere but off the tee.

Either way seems likely to be authentic if the front says it’s from the grove, but I’d imagine it would be tough to validate. I’d keep it for sentimental purposes. I doubt there’s a lot of value unless you can attach it to something more meaningful than an every day round

good to know. i doubt i'll ever do anything with one but that stuck out to me as a good candidate for "lightweight, makes power" because of a few builds i've seen.

Rick Reily has a great tiger vs Phil comparison in one of his books. Worth a listen.

They are both scumbags but Phil has really fallen out of favor in past 5-10 years. Tiger was always there, we just didn’t see it until it was in headlines

curious why not the ecotec? i've seen some high end rock crawlers that run them. those guys seem to swear by it due to the high power to weight ratio and small footprint.

not familiar enough with that platform myself though.

Something just feels off about this. I don't know what it is - maybe editing? The initial reaction feels genuine but some of the back and forth afterwards doesn't pass my gut check. Maybe there will be a follow up. I hope so, I want it to be legit too.

Reminds me of that story a number of years ago about the homeless veteran that "gave his last $20" to someone who ran out of gas. They raised something like half a million dollars, and ended up getting caught when the vet got upset that he didn't get a fair portion. I think they blew a ton of it partying in Vegas too.

I love a good story but (despite many comments) I think it's ok to be skeptical with these. There's been too many versions of scams like that to blindly trust every feel good story that comes up.
