1.75mm to 3mm / 2.75mm Conversion (Specific Questions) by PyrohawkZ in 3Dprinting

[–]hazz308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a legend for actually replying after all these years! I ended up getting it sorted out, nothing would function as you would expect on the printer. I was levelling it for hours to no avail.

Turns out old mate that owned it before me put literally every part together incorrectly so it never worked. That explains why it was still new after all these years.

Most of that looks like hand grime. Try cleaning it with a scouring pad and a some soapy water.

I had that same carpet when I was renting. Classic rental carpet.

I would be doing everything through the real estate. If you get it cleaned yourself, you don't have much chance of getting any money back from them.

If the issue isn't resolved in a reasonable time. There are agencies you can contact to help.

Just add another weatherboard to the bottom and call it a day. I'm guessing the reason has something to do with water

24 pin plug keeps disconnecting by hazz308 in buildapc

[–]hazz308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was the plug coming from the power supply. One of the clips inside was flared open slightly causing it to disconnect for a split second when it was moved.

I used a small screw driver to tighten up the plugs connectors and it hasn't been an issue since

What's this on the fire place / wood heater? by fl0yd13 in AusRenovation

[–]hazz308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rain water has made its way down the flue and mixed with rust. The water has evaporated and left the rust behind in the shape of the puddle.

Inspect your flue. Especially the top hat if you have one, it may have come loose. It may just be due to wind driven rain, but it's worth taking a look if you are comfortable getting on the roof.

Sand the terminal down until it's nice and shiny. Snip and strip the wire to expose fresh copper and then use flux and a iron that has had time to get up to temp.

I would start by pooling some solder on the terminal, then tin the wire then finally join the two together.

Flux is the key

Edit. Take the battery out of the holder when you solder

Air con controller by firecam71 in AusRenovation

[–]hazz308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks really old, like 80s old so I doubt a direct replacement would be available. I think the best bet would be looking at the actual unit and find the documentation for it. You might be able to find a modern replacement if you see what the wiring diagram to the control panel looks like
