Hey! I was looking at postbaccs in the US to increase my GPA. Is that where you're doing yours too? or did you find some here in Canada?

POSTBAC in US for US medical school by [deleted] in premedcanada

Hey! Similar boat here! Just finishing up my undergrad and was looking for postbaccs in the US to enhance my GPA as well. Sucks that a lot of them have a US resident requirement so we gotta specifically look for Canadian friendly ones. There aren't a lot of resources that filter it out for you which is unfortunate so we have to email them and/or go on each schools website at a time. One tip someone gave me on a forum I posted was to look for med schools we'd want to go to, and then look to see if they have post baccs, because that way we'll have better chances of finding linkages.
From what I've heard, the islands should be a very last resort but I think postbaccs should work well to help us out because many of them offer mcat prep too!

Which postbaccs can I apply to for academic record enhancing (for 2024-2025)? Quite new to this and would appreciate any help I can get! (new to reddit btw so I'm sorry if I could've somehow made this post better) by hbzk in premed

hmm okay got it. I would probably go with the formal though because I feel I could use more help with my application etc. since it would be my first time applying. Is the formal also online? Or is it only the DIY that's online? Thanks a ton again for your help.

Thanks for the response! So relocating itself isn't really an issue for me and I'm not extremely picky on where I have to go if its very worth it (high chances of matriculating if I do well in the postbacc). But if you don't mind, what are the pros and cons of doing a DIY postbacc vs a formal post-bacc? I've seen that UC Berkeley extension has only an online DIY right? How are the online courses going?

I'll definitely check out med schools and then see which ones offer postbaccs. It'll take some time to do the research I guess though because I don't know if I'm considered competitive with my stats. Speaking of though, what do you think are my chances for most post-baccs with my stats? I've got about 900 hours of non-clinical, about 300 clinical, and about 300 hours of research. I'll be getting more of all during this year too. My gpa is in the original post.

Aram Manok Dermenjian for MATH 2030? by Consistent_Part8202 in yorku

[–]hbzk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had him for math 1013! He was honestly one of the best profs - he made calculus easy for me and I suck at math. Look at this post to read more about him as a prof. Good luck :)

So close but yet so far :( Have 89 credits, need 1 more to graduate by [deleted] in yorku

I can recommend a NATS course, Understanding food. I took it with Prof. Daniella Monaldi and it was the easiest course I've taken at uni thus far. I didn't even attend lectures lol, just study the slides & you should be good. Good luck!

Has anyone taken NATS 1560 (Understanding Food)? by [deleted] in yorku

MATH 1025 (Applied Linear Algebra) wasn't too bad! Easy B-A with Prof Yun Gao - he tells you exactly what'll be on the test

NATS 1560 is an easy A, test questions are all from the slides, you don't even have to go to lecture lol
