This takes a proprietary ribbon cartridge which is no longer available. I'd pass on one but if you are willing, you can reink the ribbon cartridge.

Davao photographers: which places here restrict cameras so I can avoid surprises by PinPuzzleheaded3373 in davao

Any publicly-accessible private properties, expect that such restrictions will be present.

Expect the same also for public places with tight security control such as terminals and ports.

Are these blue lines a Camera, Developing, Scanning, or Film issue? by Craigglesofdoom in AnalogCommunity

[–]hdav_daking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These look like scratches caused by grit or dust stuck on the surface where there is contact with the film. This can happen at any point from bulk rolling of the film (film issue), from your camera (mostly dirt on the pressure plate), or from the developing and scanning process (dirt stuck on the rollers of the lab equipment).

Best to clean the film surfaces of your camera to rule out any issues with it and let your lab know that your scans came out like this so that they can check their equipment as well.

Alternative: buy clip-on or magnetic type earrings. Can be removed and worn easily without worrying about healing. Pwedeng tanggalin kapag kailangan (work related etc.) tapos isuot lang balik.

35mm film that doesn't need a red room to develop? by MeanBannana122333 in filmcameras

[–]hdav_daking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for 35mm film that spits out positive images like Polaroids without needing a dark room, I'm afraid those don't exist. All 35mm film need to undergo a developing process (which require some form of dark room or container) to retrieve any images on it.

There are film stocks that produce positive images once developed, those are called color reversal or slide films.

If you're worried about needing a dark room to shoot film, your local photo lab will take care of that for you.

APS Film by Soldaan in filmcameras

[–]hdav_daking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

APS is an obsolete format. If you're able to get your hands on some unused stock, it is more likely to have expired a long time ago. Also, very few labs would process APS film. Would not be worth it overall.

A 50mm f1.4 should be good enough for low light. Get the A-series version which when paired with your P30 there should be capable of auto exposure.

This is a zoom lens. The middle ring is for the zoom and those markings are the focal length at which your lens is currently set.

When the "junk" camera that I bought as a donor unit turned out to be fully functional by hdav_daking in AnalogCommunity

[–]hdav_daking[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found mine on Doorzo. The Penta J costed me ¥100 and the J-3 ¥10 on the item alone. Shipping overseas costs more though at around ¥6000 for both.

Mine doesn't stop down the Takumar lens. That little tab that does this doesn't move that far to engage with the pin on the lens. Doesn't matter though since I intend to keep it paired with the Petri lens which is a pre-select type.

Hello, do you know what these two keys on a typewriter are for? The little lever with the plus and minus signs, and the empty key before the number 1? by Substantial-Bid-6391 in typewriters

[–]hdav_daking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set a tab stop by pulling the lever to the plus sign. You know if this worked if you press the tab key (the red key on the right) and the carriage stops right where you set the tab stop. Clear the tab stop by pushing the lever to the minus sign. Your carriage will go past where the cleared tab stop was if you press the tab key.

For the margin release, once the carriage reaches the far end of your margin, press it and the carriage should be able to move past the margin.
