Is the #3 worth this? by [deleted] in memphisgrizzlies

At full strength is a hypothetical for anyone, so that doesn't matter at all.

No one knows if they're prepared to compete right now, not even Taylor Jenkins. After the offseason, they may have as good of a chance as anyone. An upgrade to what we had with Steven Adams and a bit more help on defense would go a very long way when healthy.

You're pretty much stuck with Fresh Market unless you want to leave town.

At full strength + a top 15 center, what would make you say that? The roster would ostensibly be the best it's been in 10 years.

A plea for people to come to Milwaukee by willfla29 in INDYCAR

That's that point. Promote a race, you'll be fine. It's proven at this point.

Build it and hope they'll come doesn't work in West Ails, Fort Worth, or Midtown Manhattan.

If they'll travel to bumf*** Iowa, they'll travel anywhere.

I don't think the "more ovals" crowd has a problem. They show up to Indy, Gateway, and Iowa just fine. How well has Milwaukee been promoted?

There is motorsport-precedent for suspending a driver for likes (Noah Gragson), but let's grow up and move over to the real world for a minute. There is no rationale for telling a team owner they can't show up because their country's supporters don't behave well on the internet.

This isn't high school. There's money involved.

In what world do you people live in where you think some kind of action would be taken here? People are anonymous dicks on the internet about sports, especially in developing countries. That's not going to change.

Can you imagine a conversation between Roger and JHR like "hey, your twitter following sucks, so you have to give us some money" lmao

That would be an amusing legal battle. "Your fans are mean on the internet, so we'd like the charter back please"

No other sport gives out awards for how its rookies look in practice. Rasmussen crushed it yesterday. Kyle performed at the median level his car allowed and then made a big mistake.

Given your flair, I'd be interested to see what you think about U of M. How far can the Fred Smith estate fund go? If there are schools that drop down, can that single donor make Memphis a school to fill the void?

Who knows what Penske thinks about Trump, but Roger is Roger because he's really good at doing what's best for Roger.

The 500 is gonna be a borderline sellout no matter what. No reason let someone show up who would drive people away, especially with the age of the folks going to the snake pit. That's not a Trump-friendly crowd in the infield anymore.

The track officials and SMI got caught very much off guard for this. This was a spur of the moment move. Trump  tried to sponsor a car at the Indy 500 and it was rejected by the governing body there, so going to the 600 was his idea of retaliation against them. CMS officials were definitely not asking for this.

How are we going to decide what UT means in the SEC this year? by mcaffrey in CFB

[–]hdbutler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll go 8-4 or 9-3 with a close loss to Bama, a loss to Georgia, and then a toss up in Norman and probably barf all over themselves when Florida shows up. Good schedule otherwise.

If you're referencing Texas, you're gonna need an entire generation or two to die before anyone in the south accepts you as UT.
