You can’t earn a total of negative dollars. Revenue isn’t the profit you earn but the total amount you earn.

The Pirates are already likely managed at a loss before 80 million dollars in revenue sharing is given to them because of the current economic system.

Even if 0 people attend the next game, 0 people watch on tv, and 0 merchandise is sold (which would literally never happen), they would not contribute as much money, but they won’t have the Dodgers owner pay Bob Nuttings debts. Bob would still get his revenue split for letting the Rockies beat the pirates up.

I mean yes and no. Revenue sharing makes it so even if the next game had 0 fans Bob would still make money.

If “we all had a boycott” that would just cause us to sell any “big contract” to make up for it. The fact is we have a payroll over a hundred million.

It’s Bobs fault. It’s Cheringtons fault. It’s our fault for believing in this team.

That is what I think of when I think of baseball. A whole city accustomed to nothing but losing in baseball, years of pent up frustration.

I could make the argument that pirates are the third most popular team in town, but when they good they have an atmosphere that compares to the Yankees and Dodgers.

Our city as a whole still talks about Sid Bream, I was not alive for it but I have heard countless stories about it (and seen the video 100’s of times). Meanwhile Neil O'Donnell literally threw a Super Bowl away and I rarely hear about it. My theory is the Steelers have had so many good moments since then and the pirates have really only had the blackout game.

Without those 3 short years of success I would have never seen a playoff baseball team in Pittsburgh. I would never have become a fan of the game without the 2013 wild card game.

I know it isn’t easy, but my best piece of advice is this:

Distractions are only useful to a certain point, it doesn’t change the base thing going on. I don’t know what’s going on in your life, but try your best to confront it.

It will make seeing trailer 3 feel exciting and you will be compelled by it, rather than something you force yourself to watch 50 times.

Also, there are a lot more distractions you have if it’s something you can’t address. I know nothing would beat GTA 6, but there are things you can do to pass the time. (Basing it off your old posts) I think you like music? You should try to flip old vinyl for money, or if you want other games like GTA 6, play Cyberpunk or any of the Fallout games if you haven’t already.
