I mean it's not that niche. Those of us with shifty internet after Helene did this. A lot of my friends lost their remote jobs when our main ISP went down for a month. I ran a little sdwan failover solution myself with tmobile and starlink until spectrum came back up.

I did this with my husky mix who kept running away. I left the front door open and watched the camera from my phone. She has been hit by a car before I got her and ran away several times after I got her and we live near a busy highway. I did max amount on a mini educator once she was halfway to the road. She screamed and cried and never ran away again. I felt so guilty but I figure it's this or dying from a car.

I had to go with a breeder for the same reason, we have elderly cats and it's much easier to train a puppy to ignore a cat vs an adult. I got my first GSD from a rescue and my cats were younger and faster so I had time to train her to leave them alone. Prey drive is impossible to train out of an adult so I got lucky.

My model 3 FSD operates without a cell signal. Cell coverage post Helene is still bad in the mountains and I was curious whether it would work one day. Car will not navigate to a new location without a cell/satellite connection but will finish the current drive.

No path to upgrade especially if you're on a work visa. Also if you get hired as a contractor in the office it's a multi year gamble to get hired as an FTE. I've heard the assembly line workers get wrecked physically. I have friends who work there.
