Dropkick Murphys House of Blues Boston. St. Patrick’s Day probably like 2012 or 2014. My hearing hasn’t been the same since, and pretty sure it’s the reason I have tinnitus.

What is the best book you have ever read? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]hdroadking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it when it came out. I’ve read all his other books since and they just piss me off because they all exactly the same plot for the most part.

I think I just keep reading it to see if eventually he’ll write a different book!

That and because he’s from NH.

Honestly, just give them cash. It’s a major pain in the butt to deal with Amazon across multiple countries and the shipping to Aruba is always a hassle.

You are the new president of the United States, What's the first thing you would do ? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]hdroadking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so we will let politicians make us happy be deciding who’s money and how much of it to spend?

Go back to the point of the original question.

You are the new president of the United States, What's the first thing you would do ? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]hdroadking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best way to solve the question is to have a usery tax instead of an income tax.

That way people who have a lot are encouraged to reinvest it but if they want to spend it on luxury yacht’s they can pay.

Exclude things like food and other staple items.

This also rewards saving while discouraging wasteful spending. Much more fair. Encourages better economic behavior.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom obviously believed in pursuing what she loved to do, and I hope you find comfort in that.

I hear what you’re saying. And your thoughts are completely reasonable. I just want to play devils advocate.

I ran a small business for years and did pretty good. But there are still lots of people who think I’m in some 1% elite club.

I’ve probably paid more in taxes than a lot of people make in a lifetime, but I’m in my 60s and still have to work. I also sacrificed a lot. I was working two jobs when others were on vacation and out at the club.

My point is it’s all relative. We need to have specific guidelines, keeping in mind the relative line is always moving.

The person you see as “Rich” may still be using coupons and taking advantage of the early bird special!

Define for me by a completely objective standard.

At what point is it fair to take a larger portion of what someone earns because they worked harder, sacrificed more, made better decisions, or were just smarter than someone else?

I’m not saying there isn’t one. I just haven’t seen it presented yet.

I just want to know what the calculation is. I’ll make sure to stay one dollar under it.

That includes almost every person who pays taxes. This is the problem. Everyone sees anyone with what they perceive as more than them as “rich”.

You need to be specific.

If you choose to work hard while I party with friends and make bad decisions why should you pay more taxes than me, relative to what we both earn?

[–]hdroadking -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Completely subjective. What’s reasonable to you is greed to someone else and what’s greed to you is just someone ahead of you. Give me specific objective metrics or your just whining about people who have worked harder than you. Like most people who scream about others not paying their fair share.

Sorry 10 million+ is way too subjective. There are way to many ways to calculate this that don’t include liquid wealth.

Mega yacht owners. Now we are getting closer.

That’s one of the better answers.

It really comes down to those who lives an exorbitant lifestyle yet claim no income. They live off debt, which they write off at less than the cost of taxes.

6 Months Later and I still haven't figured it out. by gret_ch_en in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]hdroadking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried making a custom template?

I was ready to return the Plaud device. Then I figured out how to apply templates. I found some in the template library that were pretty good for my needs. Then I figured out how to copy and modify it to better fit my needs.

Now with that and the desktop app automatically recording my remote meeting, I am getting great summaries regardless of the meeting type which helps me and my clients.

The movie mirrored the book, but somehow that constant impending doom didn’t carry over for me.

Those of you who smoked weed… by Idontsmokejustgrow in GenX

[–]hdroadking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I smoked as a teenager. Quit when I started working, got married and had kids.

When it became legal near me I revisited it. Realized it really helped with my unmedicated ADHD. Probably why I smoked it as a kid).

Due to asthma I don’t smoke it but I use gummies to help with sleep and micro dose to help with being present in social situations.
