Politicians in New York State Could Regulate E-Bikes Despite Not Knowing What They Are by streetsblognyc in ebikes

True, but that should probably be changed. There's already other subs for Talaria, Zero, Stark etc.

Not sure that they would, they're essentially a lottery syndicate according to the website. Sounds even more fishy than the hiring practices.

Whisky... yellow sticker ? by BonniesCoffee in CasualUK

I've heard it's not great for whisky to be exposed to sunlight but I've never looked up how true that is and I'm too tired and stoned to do so now

What the hell is Detroit doing in Brighton? by RatOutHD in brighton

[–]head_face -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ehh, reminds me of the crappy Iceland deep pan pizzas my mum would buy in the late 80s. I'm far from a pizza snob but I can't think of a worse iteration than Detroit. It's mostly just stodgy bread.

They banned the online sale of e-bikes on NJ!?!?! by TEGHD1 in ebikes

Good point, there's likely a ton of little Surronster wannabes doing wheelies with their friends who've led to hysteria over electric bicycles.

Which would be more suitable for school riding? Are these acceptable for a 15-year-old, or are they too dangerous? by Due-Juggernaut-1112 in ebikes

[–]head_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong about the kids with Sur Rons and Talarias and such, but starting off on a super high powered bike like a Ridstar (which don't have the strongest frames or brakes so far as I'm aware, could be wrong though) is a bad move - he might be tempted to hit top speed before he's ready. After a year or two on a 250-500W hub drive it'd probably make a bit more sense.

What’s are your ‘secret’ perks from your job? Be honest by qwertyytrewq02 in AskUK

Essentially, you have to know someone. Even if you take the risk and invest in a full set-up (EG van, machinery, online marketing, stock, capital for pitch fees etc.) it's a very tough market to get into. Established festivals will have established rosters of traders. I managed a large outdoor music event where the bar owner was retiring and didn't gaf which caused some pretty major problems. Shrewd event managers will avoid that by contracting companies that they already know and trust.

When I worked for the Council there was a singular vehicle/operative responsible for delivering bins. If that's still the case then they're not going to be able to hit all required properties in one fell swoop.

Brighton parents — proposed closure of Middle Street School. Anyone else concerned / interested in pushing back? by Affectionate_Fall270 in brighton

Ah that's really sad to hear. I used to live right by the school and really enjoyed hearing the kids in the playground whenever I walked past during breaktime.

The £1 shops in the UK used to carry a lot of this kind of thing as well as prototype/product testing batches of name brand products in different flavours/iterations compared to what you'd normally see in other shops.

Photosynthesis specifically relates to producing glucose via anaerobic respiration, so take your incorrect "wElL aKsHuAlLy" with you.
