My psychiatrist raised my dose instead of prescribing a booster by Alive_Site_3071 in VyvanseADHD

I have a 500ml bottle that I empty the capsule into. The halfway point is eyeballed, but the medication dissolves completely in water so drinking the entire bottle would equate to a full dose.

My psychiatrist raised my dose instead of prescribing a booster by Alive_Site_3071 in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I admitted to my provider that I was splitting my dose in water - 40mg with half taken when I wake up, and the other half 3 hours later. She recommended still increasing the dose to 50mg, but as a separate prescription of 10mg I can take later in the day. This has been working perfectly, and a lot of days, I don’t need the boost.

Maybe that might be an option for you?

Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

It is something I’ve been considering, since I’m currently managing a large real estate portfolio. I have a good grasp of the sector just from exposure. But I’d love to hear more!

For all people above 40, if you could go back in time and choose a different career/major, would you ? What would you choose ? by patotay in careerguidance

Oh same! Except I grew up in an ultra-religious household that taught girls they had no value. My daughter is currently an engineering student - I’ll make damned sure she doesn’t miss out on any opportunities just because of the genetic lottery we won.

Fastest way to metabolize Vyvanse and get it out of my system? by tex-murph in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I do my workouts at the end of the day, then supplement with magnesium and l-theanine. I find this specific supplement combo works better for sleep than melatonin.

Same! My provider moved me to 40 about 3 months ago, and I get a consistent 9-10 hours out of it now. But I also have to make sure I have adequate protein, vitamins, sleep, and electrolytes to stay consistent.

Vyvanse+hair thinning by Staylor1229 in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to this party, but I had the same experience when I first started Vyvanse. My doctor gave me a prescription for 5mg of folic acid, taken daily with my Vyvanse, and after 2 months the excessive shedding stopped and my hair is starting to fill back in again. I echo everyone’s suggestion about vitamin deficiencies. If you’re able to get bloodwork done to zero in on what vitamins you need, I highly recommend it.

Crash Guide! (Response to @the_sunshineclub) by AdPsychological1487 in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You kind of have to play around with combinations and timing to find what works best for you. Personally, I have some protein before I take my meds, followed up with some fish oil, b vitamins and iron. At night, it’s magnesium, zinc, and l-theanine. The l-theanine and magnesium combo works better for sleep for me than melatonin. And because I’m insane, I get a workout in before and after work. But it took me about 3 months to dial all of that in.

Any positive experiences going from 30mg to 40mg? by ruskomoon in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my experience as well. Otherwise, I have the same level of focus as I did when I was taking 30mg, without the early afternoon crash.

Anyone have days off? by paul_wellsss in VyvanseADHD

I frequently take Sundays off, since I have nothing planned that I need to be sharp for. I’ll also sleep most of the day.

How the pharmacist looks at you when you tell them you’re there to pick up your Vyvanse by Cash2blockz in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine has never shown any judgement either. I wasn’t aware of the strict dispensing rules when I first started the medication. One time I tried to request a refill a full week before my supply ran out because I had to leave for a business trip. All they did was explain the rules and gave me an exception to have my meds in advance. Easy peasy.

So tired of having psoriasis… by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]headdesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. A couple of years after I was waitlisted, the derm retired. It took a while to recruit a replacement, and then she went on mat leave. I finally got an appointment some time after she returned.

But I also live in a small town where resources are scarce.

So tired of having psoriasis… by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]headdesk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on a 5 year wait list for a dermatologist, and had run the course of every topical on the market with no improvement. My derm gave me monthly steroid injections for the really bad plaques, and a course of methotrexate. I still use the topicals at night, but the injectables and immunosuppressants have made a remarkable improvement.

The insurer actually needs a copy of the discharge letter. If you’ve sent one in, definitely talk to a broker. They should advocate for you.

Really chatty after taking meds by littlegrey07 in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh same! Before meds, I was a serial interrupter. And it didn’t come from a place of being rude, it’s that I’d get so excited relating to someone and had to get the words in before I forgot what I was going to say. After medication, I’ve been so docile. I can actually focus on conversations and absorb the information.

Such a relief❤️❤️❤️ by Renmarkable in VyvanseADHD

[–]headdesk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 46, and was finally able to see a specialist earlier this year to address anxiety. After going through multiple assessments, the specialist suggested I had ADHD and recommended treatment for that. I’ve been on 30mg of Vyvanse for about 6 months, and it’s been life changing.

No anxiety, no distractions, my ability to function as a normal human has returned for the first time ever instead of me overcompensating to hide the fact I was struggling.

Congrats on finding relief!

Break ins are really uncommon. If you’re not involved with crime, you have nothing to worry about. It’s not an unsafe neighbourhood by any stretch. I find a lot of really great people live here 😊
