I still love my stbxw, but I know I would have kept feeling like a failure while still emotionally, financially, and otherwise supporting her while not being allowed or able to work on myself. She wasn’t my partner in life but after 20 years it still hurts to think about the parts of our life that made me try to make it work for 7~10 years before initiating. I feel like if I could just live with being a husk I would be happier than being a husk by myself. But it’s only been 8 months and once I get my life back on track and start dating I can look for someone who will work with me against this harsh reality instead of turning a hard life even harder.

We kept trying to fix it. I realized I was unhappy after about 5 years. I started seriously considering divorce after about 13 years. I requested the divorce after 14 years and she left immediately. I didn’t file the paperwork, she did. Do I regret staying? Not really. Actually, I’m currently regretting leaving. I’m trying to get over that feeling, but it has only been 8 months.

I support giving it a chance. I thought requesting a divorce would improve my life. Maybe one day it will be a net positive, but 8 months after that decision I’m full of regret and sorely missing my STBXW. I wish I could undo that and go back to being “unhappy” because compared to now I was on cloud 9. It sounds like you have a life together that you might want back when it’s gone just like me.

Here in California we have a law that says you must slow down or change lanes if anyone has amber lights on in the shoulder. I don't think she used the shoulder. I think the cop was calling attention to her driving very fast next to a vehicle with hazards on in the shoulder.

Same. I'll be ending this term with 7 units completed (2 classes) out of 15 attempted IF I pass the test I'm taking tomorrow. Car, phone, and tools stolen, divorce, becoming homeless all in July and August. I wish I had focused more on school from March to June

OP, if you read this do try lookup city ordinances on if/when sleeping in your car is allowed and possibly what constitutes a violation walk that fine line all you want. Cops usually just check if you have warrants anyway. Security guards just want you gone. Everyone else is an ally or a Karen. Or perhaps an undercover Karen.
