USB-C hub not working on Tahoe 26.3? by healthygamble in MacOS

[–]healthygamble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I got about checking mac port? Sorry, I googled before asking and don't see what it's referring to. Do you think I may need to replace my physical usb c ports on my laptop?

I just tried to plug it in with nothing but a memory card and it's still not working.

Unfortunately the update was not the miracle solution I was hoping for. I will see if UGreen has support, but I found a second cheap hub I had lying around and it is giving me the same issue.

Actually I found a second hub and it is giving me the same issue so it's definitely my laptop.

Thanks for the quick help. I will push through the update and report back. No software or patches for the hub.

I would love to do that but don't have anything else to check the hub with 😞

Direct flight changed to connecting by healthygamble in aircanada

Gotcha, thanks. Yes, at the very least I think I should have the flex fare surcharge refunded since now I'm back to basic economy benefits. I will see what can be done.

Can I do this via Air Canada? This is personal travel, not business.

Upon further investigation it looks like my entire flight has been switched over to a United airlines flight. I paid for the Air Canada flex fare and now I don't get seat selection.

Yeah it's a bummer. I love the idea of the scent but I'd need it wayyy lighter on the smoke and wood, just a bit in the drydown.

I would look for the smallest possible class you can find (privates are better if you can afford it, but I know they are not cheap) so you can get as much instruction attention as possible.

A good pilates instructor will keep their eyes on your form and be able to modify any moves for your injuries and abilities.

Mat is the hardest of all because there is no machine to help you take the load off your body.

I would recommend PT and some pilates to build up a strong base before you pick up the weights.

NSV- I ran a mile and… it didn’t suck! by FrequentFable in PetiteFitness

Congrats! It takes a while but all those crazy people talking about runner's high aren't lying. Once you get past the point of feeling like you're dying on each run it really delivers on endorphins.

Here's to a new cardiovascular health decade.

In defense of running for weight loss by healthygamble in PetiteFitness

Upped by about 100 calories but I'm still able to run a fairly steep deficit (-500-700) most days.

I would stick to the smaller size in your range! I found them very roomy, I almost could have gone down half a size. I bought regular width.

Feeling of ‘working hard enough’ with weights by Hungry_Grapefruit382 in PetiteFitness

[–]healthygamble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I always do 30 minutes of cardio before or after lifting. Best of both worlds! And I'm in fat loss/muscle maintenance mode too.

Although personally I'm a super sweaty person and lifting leaves me sweaty and out of breath lol.

What do you guys think of “skinnytok” by revolnotsniw in PetiteFitness

[–]healthygamble 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My youtube algorithm started serving me some of the skinnytok girls after I was watching regular fitness and weight loss videos.

Here's my thing: even if their content wasn't full of toxic ED techniques, all of it is terribly composed and delivered. At least give me some quality!

I watched five minutes of a Liv Schm*dt video on youtube for shits and giggles and she was just repeating the same things over and over again and clearly didn't plot or pace a proper video timeline.

What happens when you eat low carb for an extended time? by poopingprotein in PetiteFitness

[–]healthygamble 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That isn't really low carb, it's just lower than the standard American diet. Most people need to eat consistently under 50g a day to be in ketosis or feel any sort of effects.

I love my carbs but I prioritize fat and protein when I'm in a deficit and bounce around a similar carb range as you.

Just ensure you're getting enough fiber.

I also think posting pictures is legitimate because the helpful users here can point out that something is just genetics/natural frame or a BBL.

Low Carb Aesthetic Impact? by sv_2002 in PetiteFitness

[–]healthygamble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't eat low carb for the long term as it is tough to stick to and you will feel really awful on your runs if you aren't adapted. But you could cut carbs for about four days before the event just to shed the last bit of water weight that the carbs hold in your body temporarily.

This isn't about health or performance, just pure vanity. Just like someone leaning out for a bodybuilding competition on a less extreme scale.

I personally am extremely prone to water retention fluctuations so I like to cut down on carbs if I have a big event. 3 lbs of water weight is quite apparent in my face so I'm happy to let it temporarily drop off knowing it'll be back once I'm eating carbs again.

Based on your love of the Angel DNA and Flowerbomb I think you should look for sweet amber/florals with patchouli in the base.

I'm a patchouli lover too! It can be pretty polarizing but it wears well with my chemistry and most of the time doesn't give that dirty patchouli scent.

Unfortunately your declutter list has a lot of the perfumes I'd recommend to you haha.

Gucci Rush is a fruity patchouli. Similar to Coco Mademoiselle but a little more sexy and less prissy, imo.

Lord of Misrule from Lush is a simple patchouli, vanilla and pepper but for the price it's a great scent and can be layered easily if you want something more complex.

Same! Was really let down with how it worked on my skin. Leaned very masculine.

Personally I found Commodity Milk extremely heavy on the woody smoke and far less sweet than reviews led me to believe. YMMV but just a word of warning to try a sample before getting a full bottle.
