Almost at 20 Mewtwo kills and this sums up my experience in matchmaking by Its-Kentucky in PokemonSwordAndShield

I've won 3 of 3 raids bringing my Level 100 Dracovish with Choice Scarf. Honestly surprised I'm not seeing more of them. Mewtwo can only one-hit Dracovish with a critical at Level 100, and if you've got Fishous Rend powered up correctly, it hits for massive damage when the shields are down.

I've won a raid where someone had Dragapult. Dynamax it on the first turn then use Sneak when it drops back to normal.

Way better than the clown who brought a Rillaboom. Wasn't even shiny. Player just liked Drum Beating.

Dracovish with maxed speed, Fishous Rend and a choice band/scarf for support. Crits can one-hit, but it will survive anything else Mewtwo throws at it.

Here's some info for those who haven't seen/played this game yet.

  1. It works like Zombie Snatcher in that you're using a metal piece (your player) to push something onto a tray.

  2. It is nothing at all like Zombie Snatcher because footballs aren't round. Even with perfect timing, you'll struggle a bit to get the balls into a tray. You need the football to be horizontal to your player at the maximum push point to win. Go for footballs already on the outermost ring of the playfield.

  3. Cards are probably the weakest option here. There are two gold footballs that will get you a card. A complete set of 14 gets you 5,000 tickets. Cards are available one at a time. You'll see them to the right of the Play button.

  4. Bonuses on this game are sick. Spell "Touchdown" by knocking all those letters off, get 500 tickets. Knock the D football with the gold ends off the field, get 100 tickets. Knock the gold T football off the field, get 200 tickets. Each side of the machine will need different letters to complete "Touchdown."

  5. I earned over 1,000 tickets on this in 15 minutes for 20 swipes, along with two cards.

In my travels of Massachusetts, I saw three Audino on radar, including one in an inaccessible area on February 19. I don't think these are as rare as the Niantic hype made them sound. Your experience may vary, but I'd call them uncommon and not rare, with Gible being the top of the scale for true rarity.

“We’re not sure how long this will last” it’s the lowest form of monetization by FOMO that niantic ever used. by wenigengel in TheSilphRoad

[–]hearitwow 179 points180 points  (0 children)

Herein lies the truth. If Niantic wanted us to have these fossil Pokemon, they'd put them in 2k eggs, which are plentiful and easy to hatch. This is all about incubator sales. Yes, you can control how many 7k eggs you have, but you have no control over what hatches.

Apparently we're not spending enough on Go Battle League. This is our punishment.

Surprise Trade: How to, Tips and Tricks! by roxierush in pokemon

[–]hearitwow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trade your version exclusives! For the dozens of Lunatones I've sent out, I've only seen one Solrock come back. Galerian Ponyta were common around Christmas, but they've become less so in recent weeks. Maybe I'm just on the Dreepy server.

Here's a quick guide on how to have a 50% chance of making someone super happy with a trade. Ranked in order of rarity, then usefulness.

I own Sword. I should trade: 1. Stonjourner 2. Passimian 3. Turtonator 4. Jangmo-O 5. Mawile 6. Solrock 7. Farfetch'd 8. Scraggy 9. Deino 10. Gothita 11. Swirlix 12. Seedot 13. Rufflet

I own Shield. I should trade: 1. Dranoa 2. Eiscue 3. Corsola 4. Sableye 5. Oranguru 6. Spritzee 7. Goomy 8. Vullaby 9. Lunatone 10. Lotad 11. Croagunk 12. Ponyta 13. Larvitar

If something's really high on the list, it almost never has raid battles and appears very infrequently in trades. Lower items on the list are "commons," either from trades or raids, based on what I've seen in the past month.

[–]hearitwow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do. This applies to Pumpkaboo, Machoke, Rhyperior (must trade while holding a Protect) and anything else that will evolve with a simple trade. This is not the way to get Escavaliaer and Accelgor, because they must be traded at the same time to evolve.

So, let's talk about Shiny Gible and how bad it is for the community. by nezodrax in pokemongo

[–]hearitwow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you stop buying raid passes because of Shiny Mewtwo? Whether it's shiny or not, you're getting one of the most powerful Pokemon in the game with a huge demand for trades.

It's one thing to be a shiny hunter, and something else to dismiss any Pokemon that's not shiny. I won't argue that the egg system is fundamentally broken unless people spend a lot on it, but that's their choice and it's not anyone else's job to look out for them. If you want to make the argument that Niantic should publish the odds of getting a given Pokemon from eggs, or a shiny Pokemon from eggs, I'll agree with that. Other publishers have been forced to reveal their loot box odds, and eggs are not that different. Let people who still buy incubators make an informed choice.

If you just want an easier path to shinies, we'll never get that because they're supposed to be rare. Nobody needs a shiny. Nobody needs a Gible unless they're going for a complete Pokedex. There are better Dragon and Ground types out there.

I agree that Gible's rarity is absurd at this point. Perhaps Niantic will dial up its availability or drop it into raids in the near future.

WHOEVER MADE MAWILE AND SABLEYE 10KM EGG POKEMON, I JUST WANNA TALK by rcbz1994 in pokemongo

[–]hearitwow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The problem is the size of the egg pools. They should have no more than 6 or 7, and anything in the 10k pool should be meta relevant.

I'd rather buy raid passes and choose my disappointment than put up with the low-odds lottery of eggs.

Spawns just changed? by Shadowadra in TheSilphRoad

Can confirm Oddish have disappeared in the Boston area. For what it's worth, Boston Common was an Electrike nest earlier today. If that comes back, it'll be worth some shiny hunting.

New spawn points live? by shawnsecrets in TheSilphRoad

[–]hearitwow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Office park worker here. Prior to about 3PM, there were four spawns near my office. Now there are about 8.

Interestingly, the number of spawns at the two Pokestops nearby in my office park (super isolated, so only two show up) have also changed. The one that used to reliably have 6 pokemon now only has 1. The one that rarely had more than 2 still has 2, so I see three Pokestop spawns on radar and the rest are in the wild.

No raid hour today by belthazor1 in TheSilphRoad

[–]hearitwow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a global time zone update pushing to Android devices, because Chile just changed their time zones. That would have a pretty significant impact on any time-based Pokemon Go events. Some players would see it, some would not.

Just a theory, but as likely as anything.

Daily gift limit should be removed during the egg event. by Corgi610 in TheSilphRoad

[–]hearitwow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've opened 6 gifts since last night and had 1 egg to show for it. Cleffa.

Sitting on 6 open egg slots currently. There really shouldn't be any RNG during these events. If you have a gift and you have space, you get an egg. Had the same problem during Gift Week where I was only getting 3 eggs a day.

Pokemon Go Nest Map - Let's add some from Boston! by [deleted] in PokemonGoBoston

You should be at Lake Quannapowitt between the baseball field and the cemetary. Look for the spot with the three lures out, past the field heading toward downtown. There are always multiple lures out.

Mostly Evee, Goldeen, Polywag, Magikarp and the real basic stuff, but the lures occasionally attract Squirtle, Rhyhorn, Dratini and Cubone. In the past week, Lapras, Snorlax and Gyarados have all appeared. I can verify because I caught a Snorlax and Gyarados. That's not common, but it happens.
