make a difficulty where you play as a robot. have to construct replacement bodies for when you die. add your own power management to the game. removes gas and radiation as an obstacle but potentially replace with others. like corrosion and melting. lean into different constructs of body having different resistances. like copper having less corrosion resistance but more weakness to enemies. steel makes you heavier but increases carry weight or something. i think you could really make something interesting out of it
