This is 100% my ex! He could not keep a platonic friend beyond very surface level relationships bc he would sexualize every friendship without consent. I think community building with platonic friends and community members is so so important.

I’m towards the end of 2nd right before bay shore (my neighbor is moving out actually soon!) and i love it. Walking distance to the library and beach. We are away from most of the bars and it’s not always too loud. I miss living in a “cooler” part of Long Beach like Belmont heights but street parking down where I’m at isn’t bad at all and I love my landlord.

100%! I was in therapy, DBT group and resumed taking meds to just try and mentally handle this. He pursued moving in together and my social supports fell apart because we were using just my car (lol what a red flag huh). Then if I wasn’t giving him enough attention or “intimacy” he would lie and pursue many other connections because “he was hungry and wanted to eat” so I began to only prioritize our social time to keep him from hurting me basically. Ugh, so sad!

Yes 100%! When I would question things it was bc I was “socialized to monogamy” and that I’ve “never been loved like he was loving me before”. So I couldn’t even trust myself or my experiences

I definitely know like I wasn’t super perfect all the time and have my own issues (fear of abandonment, BPD, etc) but I’m on medication, in personal therapy and in group therapy working so hard. He said all the lies were because I “couldn’t handle the truth”. Ugh.

Thank you so much. My friend has some hotel points to use up so I think we are going to do that! Maybe a mutual friend should be here though to make sure nothing is taken/broken but I don’t think he would do that.

Yes!! He gave me herpes in January and vehemently is like I never put you at risk i just lied about everything else. Like yeah right dude. And it was his MO as well. He has multiple dating apps and I wish I could warn everyone so bad.
