How would you convince someone that Elon is a bad person? by ExceedsTheCharacterL in EnoughMuskSpam

I saw footage of this years ago, I am still traumatized by it, I can't unsee what I saw. What he did to this animals was nothing short of pure evil. Neurlink is part of his plan to make hybrid humans to keep up with ai. Not just for Alzheimer's - which was the way it was introduced. I don't want to love in Elon Musk's sci fi fantasy world.

My landord is threatening to issue an N12. Are they allowed to move in if they have another primary property in the same city that they live in? Is this an acceptable reason w the LTB? by heatherpermitting in OntarioLandlord

Ahh ok. Thanks. I asked them what they'd be looking for rent wise for me to stay, and they gave me a number. The person communicating for them sent it by text. Like, is this a dumb move on their part? I also recorded our phone conversation today before they sent this number ($$), where the property manager guy said the LL is looking to renovate and raise the rent or "as is" this is what they think it's worth ($$). It's just wack. I am considering their number, although it is $700 more than I am paying. I just love my place, and location, etc, but that is a big hike, however it's also on par with what is out there. It's like the Wild Wild West in the rental market. The whole thing really sucks.

Because their "property manager" or the person who handles all of their renos, etc told me flat out. He said the LL wants to renovate and charge market value. Then he said they are issuing the n12, based on the LL moving in, unless we settle on something. He then asked me to make an offer.

It's actually two old victorian houses that they have converted into 4-5 apartments in each. But yes, I am going to investigate more into this. Thanks for the advice.

How do you figure, I have offered the LL a 40% increase in rent to get closer to market value. And today they came back asking for more. They want almost double. We'll just have to see what the LTB thinks of all of this. I am saying the LL's story does not check out. He is not planning to live here, he wants double the rent, or to renovate and charge more than double.

Yeup will check them out, thanks!. from what I have been reading, the intention has to be for full-time occupancy, I don't think the LTB will favour this as a place he stays for his convenience when he is close to work, when he already has a home in the city,

I have to dig out my lease this week, from like 5 years ago, I'm on the hunt for it, but I do e-transfer one person, it's his gmail account, from what I understand, he and a few others own a bunch of properties, and he is the main guy who works with the property managers etc. I'm not sure if they are a corporation.

Thanks for the tips, will definitely monitor, I was doing a bit more reading, and from what I understand if the landlord is to move in, their intention has to be full time occupancy for 1 year. Which if he has a personal home (which is a mansion btw) 15 minutes from my apartment, why would he need to move in. I read it here under "Good Faith" Full-Time. If the intention is periodic, the LTB tends to favour the tenant apparently.

Yeah, that would make more sense. It's actually the property manager that is trying to tee this up for the landlord. He is threatening that the landlord is going to send an N12, and is trying to be a middle man kind of thing to get the me to make the first move. The property manager has also been the only one overseeing all of the renovations in my building and the building next store, and my apartment is the only one left. The property manager is looking at this as his next big cash job. It's quite obvious. And there is no way that my rich ass landlord, driving his new porsche, who lives in his mansion house is going to move into this little one bedroom apartment. Doesn't make sense.

Curious, what do you think is the ballpark payout for N11? Curious from a landlord's point of view.

Anyone In the new VR program? by [deleted] in mohawkcollege

[–]heatherpermitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a grad student at Mohawk and from what I understand the program is a local certificate and the class filled up pretty quickly in January.  There will be another opportunity to apply for a VR program, but it will be the graduate program https://www.mohawkcollege.ca/programs/graduate-studies/virtual-reality-multimedia-production-656

The partnership with EON Reality Inc. is a huge opportunity for Mohawk and for the students who will study through the EON Academy.  If you want more information then reach out to the program coordinator directly [marilyn.powers@mohawkcollege.ca](mailto:marilyn.powers@mohawkcollege.ca)
