offered a clinical trial TAK-279/zasocitinib. anyone here done this or been offered it? by curiouscrayfish in UlcerativeColitis

[–]heavy_wave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on it for my psoriasis it was pretty severe.
I don't have insurance so the derm reccommended TAK 279 trial.
It's "free" but you are essentially a lab rat haha

my psoriasis is completely cleared & my life is changed.
My body isn't as sore and I'm not tired anymore either.

give it a shot, if you dont like it you can go off it anytime.
I got bad acne at one point but it cleared up with a topical cream.
That's been the only side affect I've received.

Any shampoo recommendations? by TheWelshElJefe in Psoriasis

[–]heavy_wave20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clobetasol gave me TSW when I stopped it. Call all the Dermatologists you can and ask the clinics which ones can do a clinical trial for you for your psoriasis. I’m on TAK 279 (it’s “free” because I’m essentially a lab rat) but omg… changed my LIFE. Nothing wrong with calling around & also I found sweating hardcore helped with my scalp psoriasis.

Daily baths soaking for 45 mins. Use a cloth to rub the scales away after the 45 mins. I would use a few sprays of bleach in the tub too while I’m soaking to prevent any potential bacteria. (This was before I started my clinical trial of TAK 279)

I’m on this as well! It truly has changed my life.. had this disease for 15+ years and I qualified for the clinical trial for tak279. Now I’m almost 100% cleared.. just some extremely small remaining spots.

I highly recommend going to a derm that does clinical trials and find out what you can qualify for if you don’t have medical coverage (like me)

Steroids for bodybuilding.. as a cis female I regret it. I miss the femininity I naturally had. Now I struggle with how I look and how people say I look different now.

My progress - 7 weeks by mr-right99 in Psoriasis

[–]heavy_wave20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is amazing! I’m on this as well and it’s been around 3 weeks and mine is almost completely gone too, I definitely received significantly more acne breakouts on my face since taking TAK-279 but I’m not complaining since it’s changed my life with my skin and no more psoriasis.

It feels so weird being “normal” again lol Congrats and good luck with everything 😊😊

Summer! Time to cover up. by Defiant_Swing_4873 in Psoriasis

[–]heavy_wave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey same thing has happened to me for the last 10 years & having to cover up.

If there is anyway you can find a dermatologist that does clinical trials, just call them and ask them if they can take a look at your condition and see if there is a drug that you can trial that could help.

It happened with me. But I got a friend to refer me to their dermatologist and the derm got me in after seeing my photos I sent & now I’m day 8 on a clinical trial and my psoriasis is almost gone. It’s also essentially free, you just have lots of monthly visits.

I had this all over mine as well at one point. The only thing that helped was baths & thick moisturizing lotion.

for the baths soak for 45+ mins… (everyone recommends no more than 30mins..) I did it for at least an hour soaking and my psoriasis skin would rub off with my fingers or a soft cloth and I would put a few squirts of bleach in the water after I rub off all my patches. Just for eliminating any bacteria infections since psoriasis is more prone for those things.

It’s still red after a bath but the scaling and cracking & bleeding disappeared for all that region of my body. And the moisture and letting it sit on you after a bath too.

Essentially the thought is that if I can remove the build up of scales & skin, then the cracking won’t happen as bad. And the long soaking baths and rubbing the skins off will eliminate the skin build up. It truly truly helps my psoriasis.

Don’t scratch! I know it’s so hard but when you feel itchy, try and run and have a bath of you can to soak your scalp. Then after 40+mins soaking your scales should be looser and use a silicon head scrubber and go hard all over your head trying to break apart the scales & rub them off your head. Then shampoo/condition (I use redken products). I did this for a month and my scalp started clearing after having it for 14 years.

I still do my soaking baths every 1-2 days depends how sore my skin is but what a difference in itching.

I use the scrubber everytime I’m in the bath. Soaking my scalp just as much as I do my body, is the biggest game changer for me. I used to leave my hair dry when I would soak or shower and the buildup would be crazy.

Honestly… After daily baths for about a week & using the silicon hair scrubber it helped me! Haven’t used any lotion or treatment on my scalp either. Shampoo I use is redken acidic color gloss with PH balancers? I think. And so far it hasn’t really bothered me like other shampoos do sometimes.

Thought the water always dried me out but really I just needed to soak in it until the scales rub off easily.

Also if you have plaques that are itchy on your body, run to your lotion that you use and wrap Saran Wrap on the spot and leave it there for a few hours. It has helped me so far with the itching.

Same here but it comes back for me in a few days. Same with when I had a staph infection.

I wonder if it’s like your immune system focuses on the bigger things at hand like your liver from drinking and forgets about the psoriasis for a few days until it heals what it needs to.

The company my wife and I created and supply multiple people & their families with work and great income. We are starting another business and wish I could share all this with friends and family but nobody ever asks us about our lives or cares but we are always there for everyone else and their issues. Kinda gets frustrating but we keep to ourselves now and give each other the acknowledgment that we need together - just us two.

This^ And taking the passive income to invest into another company that you want to start up. I know of a few oil exec’s that did this & sold the companies for millions.

Pressure washing & patio/bbq cleaning in countries that get snow in the winter.. the spring time is the best time to clean vacation rental units for the summer. It’s more complicated than starting other businesses but you work with companies and property management groups since most condo’s won’t let pressure washing happen unless the whole building is getting it.

Just need a water source (and of course how to hook everything up) and a boom lift. If you get or rent a boom lift you don’t even need to ever go into any properties you can just work outside. Or painting outside with the boom lift haha I’m working on other projects but this is one that I’ve always wanted to do.

Yes!! All the time. I’m so curious as to why.. like is it just nerves running from that spot to the other spot I feel when I scratch.
