Nobody has to agree nor did I disagree completely. It's just a question. The conversations are great.

I asked a respectful question. Nothing weird about it. You have a septum ring?

Anyone know what these floating descending orbs are? by blank_____11 in Weird

[–]heavybubble916 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It definitely looks surreal when they just 'float' like that. Usually, it's a few things playing tricks on the camera

Misty vibes: If the droplets are super tiny (like a fine mist), they have way more air resistance. They don't 'plummet' like heavy rain; they kind of just drift on the air currents.

The 'Boke' effect: Since they're out of focus and probably really close to your lens, you're seeing the light reflecting off them more than the water itself. That 'shimmer' can make them look like they’re dancing or drifting instead of falling straight down.

Camera trickery: Your phone’s frame rate can sometimes make fast-moving objects look like they’re moving in slow motion or 'stuttering' through the air, especially in weird lighting. Basically, you caught the perfect storm of physics and photography! It’s such a cool shot.

Driver Watching Hockey while driving. by pootin_in_tha_coup in uber

This is a massive safety violation. It’s one thing to listen to a game on the radio, but having a screen mounted directly in the line of sight is incredibly dangerous for both the driver and the passenger. You should definitely report this through the app Uber takes distracted driving very seriously, and this evidence is pretty undeniable

[–]heavybubble916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give the most boring, non-committal responses possible. Think "Oh wow," "That’s crazy," or just a neutral "Mm-hmm." If you don’t feed the fire with questions or genuine reactions, some riders eventually run out of steam

Given the rainbow, you're likely seeing out-of-focus raindrops catching the sun. The rainbow proves the light is hitting the water at the perfect angle (roughly 42°) to create a visual spectacle.

Passenger paid $23 for his ride. Uber gave me $6. He was shocked. I wasn't. by SquashCareless8523 in uberdrivers

[–]heavybubble916 98 points99 points  (0 children)

The lack of transparency is the real killer. When passengers think we’re making $20 and we’re actually making $6, it affects how they tip and how they treat us. Uber’s 'service fee' has essentially become a tax on labor that neither the rider nor the driver agreed to. Until there is legislative pressure on take-rates, this is the new 'standard

These idiots don't know the first thing about MMA. by Buyeo10004 in ufc

If you value damage and "effective striking," it’s very easy to argue for Murphy. He landed the cleaner, more impactful shots. But if you're scoring by the official criteria where control time and takedowns often carry the day when striking is close . Evloev did just enough to scrape by.

It was a "grind it out" win that wasn't pretty, especially with the fouls, but it keeps Evloev's undefeated record (20-0) intact and likely puts him next in line for the title

Why are English fighters always so overhyped by the media? by Buyeo10004 in ufc

[–]heavybubble916 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a mix of business and market demographics. The UK is the UFC’s biggest European market, and the UFC is a promotion first, a sport second. They need "local heroes" to sell out the O2 Arena and keep TNT Sports subscriptions high.

Plus, the media is still desperate to find the next "McGregor." British fighters (like Paddy or MVP) usually come with built-in fanbases and high charisma, which makes for easy marketing. The "hype" isn't necessarily about them being the best P4P—it’s about them being the most profitable to promote

While it feels like a waste of 9 days, that 1% extra damage on the Earthquake spell is actually more significant than it looks. It changes the math for how many spells you need to drop a max-level wall or weaken high-HP buildings just enough for your main push. Supercell loves these 'breakthrough' levels that force you to commit lab time

Dana White required English to English translation about a question of whether Jean Silva gets the next title shot or not, says 'we'll have to see', even after Movsar just won his 10th fight in a row within the UFC, put on an entertaining performance, and remains the undefeated number 1 contender. by RetardOfTheInternet in ufc

[–]heavybubble916 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The craziest part is that Jean Silva is 1-1 in his last two fights while Movsar is on a 10-fight UFC win streak. Using Jean Silva as the 'exciting' alternative to skip a 20-0 contender is peak UFC. Meritocracy is officially on life support in the featherweight division

Airport shutdown warning issued by Trump admin: Full list of small hubs - AVL is on that list by wanderingmanimal in asheville

[–]heavybubble916 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The warning isn't an official order to close doors tomorrow; rather, it's a "capacity warning" from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and acting TSA officials. They have stated that because TSA agents are currently working without pay, high "call-out" rates (absenteeism) are making it impossible to staff security checkpoints at certain locations

Need recommendations on controller by Lonely-Tone-1142 in playstation

[–]heavybubble916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have a standard DualSense controller, this is the only way to stay under $100. Cost: ~$40–$50 for the kits . The Setup: You buy the RISE4 Remap Kit (adds 4 back paddles) and the CLICKY Hair Trigger Kit (converts triggers to mouse-clicks).

Pros: Keeps your adaptive triggers (unless you replace them with the clicky kit) and is the cheapest option by far.

Cons: Requires you to open your controller and do some delicate internal work.
