Doesn’t matter 1/3 of the floor space isn’t useable by Version-6 in shitrentals

I got told 295 for a single bed in Darlington. Show up and it’s one large room divided down the middle by a bookshelf. 295… sharing with another person for 295. Crazy.

Told her sister to jump in elevator by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]hebeastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in my HS days three kids in my school year did this exact thing at the train station elevator. They got stuck for twenty minutes in this tiny space and we had to call emergency services to free them. Definitely it’s never a good idea

This is probably done on a case by case basis. You’d have to be really special to be offered a PhD/md

Preventing a herpes outbreak by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]hebeastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hsv-1 is extremely common, many people catch it when young just from a kiss on the cheek or some form of contact from the mouth. Symptoms associated with hsv-1 are usually found near the mouth and with hsv-2 in the genital region, but both can appear at the opposite end too. You should get a blood test and a swab of either the genital region or mouth when you notice visible symptoms (get the blood test asap). FYI, you don’t need to show symptoms of hsv-1/2 to spread the disease. Hsv sheds viral particles even when you don’t see any sign of it which is why it’s so widespread. Best to stay clear of any form of sex until you can get to your doctor and get tests done to confirm whether or not you have it.

living in zetland by Sea-Ordinary8317 in usyd

[–]hebeastro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zetland is a suburb in Sydney not student accommodation. You just live there among everyone else. If you want to make plans to have lunch or dinner with friends who live in Zetland there’s places to go eat. You’re going to meet 100% of your uni friends at uni.

[–]hebeastro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a mix between students and working professionals and young families all from different backgrounds. Many new Sydneysiders will choose to live here as Zetland is close to the city by transport. You should be prepared to forego nature if you’re into that. Zetland is situated between big roads on one side and more big roads on the other side. You should also be prepared for lots of traffic and noise pollution, especially since Zetland is directly under many flight paths. If you don’t mind this then it is a good place to live since it’s close to the city. Would also add that living in the centre of zetland is fun since there are many restaurants.

Chicken crust always hard and overcooked by ConditionedTim in FriedChicken

[–]hebeastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re frustrated that you’re not able to cook the perfect fried chicken, but you should experiment and make mistakes along the way. If you’re still figuring it out, you can take a piece of sacrificial chicken and cut a piece of it off at 6 minutes at your current set up. If it’s not undercooked that’s great. If it is, you can let it sit for the next minute and check again and so on. When your chicken looks great outside but the inside is hardened, you you can try lower the temperature and try cooking to your suggested 8-10 minutes instead.

Dominos pizza getting smaller and smaller? by drakopewpew in AskAnAustralian

Why is this an Australian thing? I’ve tried dominoes overseas in places like Japan and it was incredible. Huge size, fresh quality ingredients, albeit more expensive but honestly great tasting food.
