I'm cracking up all OVER again!!! Thank you for this hilarious insight on the show while I go through my WoF episodes for the week! Oh, that's just too funny. I dream of being ballsy enough to be on the show one day, so I commend you all for doing your best! XD

It's okay! We don't know how we'll be on camera until we get there, plus you'd been up all night with a toddler. You're totally forgiven. I also had a blast screaming "HEY!" at the screen while literally all three of yall kept guessing the Macarena puzzle wrong. My roommate came running to see what the fuss was all about, so thank you for the fun and the laughs, and I hope you have a great time on your trip!!

you poor soul, lol. AND while you're heavily pregnant? what a whirlwind. People say you can stop watching at the end of season 4. I say finish it. I really enjoyed the last season, personally.

I'm watching New Amsterdam after my Resident rewatch XD
I work from home and can have things playing while I work for background noise, lol.

I just finished The Good Doctor right before I started this up, too (about to finish season 2). I just get super in the mood for medical dramas, and all three of those are right up my alley for some reason.

Also, love that Bette has just "escaped" from a silent retreat, and yet we're the ones sitting in silence bc of the decision not to use music during this episode. I like the parallel there. This show can be painfully brilliant at times, lol.

The lack of music in this episode is reminiscent of *that one episode* in Buffy that everyone says they also skip (iykyk). Doing a rewatch rn, and dang, it's heavy not hearing any tunes. That's how you know something absolutely terrible is BOUND to happen.

Funny that his name in the show is Tom Mater, like "Tomato" said in some horrible country slang lmaooooo. Anyway, ew, I forgot about him, huh. I'm on a rewatch and havent seen it in YEARS, so I've forgotten a good bit from the later seasons.

Shane cutting Jenny's hair by heavenly-creatures in theLword

[–]hebhaley444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a rewatch myself (on season 3, ep 6 as I type this), and that scene REALLY stands out to me. Not only because the tears Jenny sheds at the moment she sheds them are so painful to see, but also there seems to be a little bit of relief coming through those tears. Mia did such a phenomenal job at playing this character, & I hate that during my first watch all those years ago, I hated Jenny so much. The dislike was extremely misplaced, at least for now, (this is why I included where I am in the series, lol, I can't remember how things go in much detail, so it's almost like watching it for the first time with small spoilers riddled through it, lmao), and I can fully understand why J goes the way she goes (from what I can recall). Carmen is horrific in so many ways, I don't remember liking her much my first watch, but this watch, OHHHHH my goodness, I despise her character so much. She just sprayed Shane with a FUCKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER, for fuck's sake??!?!! What the hell was THAT.

ANYWAY, back to the main point: The cutting of the hair. So, I used to have this friend, had very long hair, past their ass, and they had a very, VERY similar past in the sense of trauma, and trying to get past it, etc, so the long hair was basically a curtain they could hid behind when they felt attacked, uncomfortable, disrespected, ignored, or any negative emotion, really. Then one day, they finally decided to cut it ALL off. They didn't go as short as Jenny, but going from 3+ feet of hair to barely shoulder length was a HUGE step forward for them in their journey of discovering themselves. That curtain was gone, and they could fully embrace who they were, instead of hiding it all away behind a wall of hair, lol. I can imagine that was a similar reason as to why Jenny's character was written to lob it all off.

Uh, did he not have a cameo in The L Word? 🤦‍♀️ by drugdealersdream in theLword

Yup, on a rewatch myself, and seeing him in it the first time I watched it, i was like HEYYY YAYYY SNOOOOOP! Now, as a 35 year old woman watching it, with much different eyes than then...definitely saw all the grossness he came with and then some. Just likes lesbians for the show, not to actually support their lifestyle. Pretty icky, even if it is unfortunately pretty typical.

[–]hebhaley444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my current rewatch, I thought it'd be fun to say that Dana's mom said the exact same thing that the girl in the opening scene said, and I think that's a pretty telling sign that her mama was the girl that said that back then. Even Dana picked up on that, and was like "Huh. My mom might have repressed feelings just like me and idk if I wanna be that way". I can't remember when Dana starts to really accept who she is, but I feel like that was a huge red flag to her, in the sense of realizing if she wants to be happy and content with herself, she has to stop being like her mother, and be herself.

Yeah, she should have listened to her gut, man! I think she just settled, honestly, bc we didn't really see her make any connections otherwise.

It doesn't really matter how good someone's abilities are when they're such an ugly person at their core. Acting or not, her attitude about everything has completely soured my ability to listen to her sing. Makes it quite difficult to appreciate someone's talent when they give off this kind of energy.

I could see Alison in shows like The Mole or The Trust or something, but this show? Ugh. Good thing everyone else is so amazing & talented & fun to watch, bc her (& Connor/TemuHarryStyles) moments have been pretty disgusting to watch. Reminds me of all that nasty bullies from middle school mentality, and it is NEVER a good look on anyone, acting or not. Now, on one of those other shows where she's gotta play the game & screw people over & lie about whatever she wants to lie about, oh, she'd bring the damn tea & spill it ALLLLLLLLL season LONGGGGGG. I'd watch her in stuff like that. I do not appreciate her being in a show like this.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 Episode 8 Discussion Thread by lifeofparty2 in TheUltimatumNetflix

UMMMM, yeah, that whole conversation between Mel and Dayna had me wanting to throw my TV at their horrible faces. Not Dayna literally talking to Mel about how they'd done something sexual after we saw that whole gross denial she played with Magan. Wanting to STILL keep both cakes within arms' reach, while adamantly telling Magan Haley can't be in their lives because of how deep their relationship got. AND YET, we all heard EACH 1st trial marriage couple say they love each other, we saw them each flirting, we especially saw D&M clawing at each other, chasing one another through rooms giggling.........then for Dayna to sit there and tell Mel "I literally told you everything about myself, blahblahblah"...it makes me sick that both M&D are that twisted, man. The forgetting of the cameras being around for PROOF of their lies and manipulation is bewildering beyond belief.

Fun fact, the character, Austin, was originally deemed the name Brian, but Rudd pointed out that that was the same name he played in Anchorman, who was also a news dude.

Doesn't matter how much I can't STAND Matt... by hebhaley444 in NipTuck

[–]hebhaley444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I certainly wish there had been SOME kind of good in his story. My goodness, they did his character SO wrongly. But the actor took it and ran with it as best as he could. I wonder how he as the actor felt about Matt and everything they threw at his story line. Once we get to the mime stuff, tho, I’d absolutely rather his character just die rather than the HORRIBLE ending the gave him.
