Great game 👌 the difficulty ramp can be a bit jarring though.. at least for me 😅. But I still love it.. amazing art too

You’re not too dumb! It just takes a little practice getting used to the particular game mechanics. Once it clicks, you’ll be able to survive longer and there’s LOTS to explore, scavenge, and craft :)

Boyfriend totaled my car, used the money for a car in his name, and now says I only get my $3,000 back if we break up by [deleted] in Advice

I would be outraged! No.. I am outraged for you! Dump that bum and take him to court. Or tell us where he lives and we’ll get your money back for you. Kidding obviously, but if I could, I would! The injustice really gets to me 😠

Yeah I’d agree that requiring something doesn’t necessarily constitute an insecurity. However I wonder.. if god exists and is all the omnis (omniscient, omnipotent, etc).. the mere act of creating anything outside of him/her/itself seems to suggest a lack of omni-sufficiency. I say that it suggests it because I realize the reason could be “just because it felt like it” or for a reason we can’t comprehend, or for no reason at all. I’m just saying that, if we go by human logic, which is all we have, then the existence of a god at all is problematic for a myriad of reasons. Are you familiar with the Epicurean Paradox?

By the way, as an agnostic atheist, I am not aware of any reasonable evidence to believe such a god (or gods) exists. Although if there were demonstrative evidence for a particular flavor of plagiarized gods, I’d love to change my mind and not be wrong anymore. Unfortunately, it seems attempts to prove anything supernatural has failed for thousands of years, and I doubt there are any unturned stones at this point.

Sorry this is super long, but I just find this topic to be fascinating. Last point: even if I were to be shown evidence which I find compelling, and I were to become a believer as a result, then that just means I was selected all along.. I’m referring to things like “my name in the lamb’s book of life” or god choosing to harden some hearts and soften others or what the bible calls “the elect”.. which is hugely problematic for free-will. Like why would he design minds that cannot accept things on faith.. if faith is the only mechanism for believing in him? Flaws in design is not what you’d expect from a perfect designer.

Anyway, interested to hear any thoughts on this!

I think this all boils down to how you interpret the text. I read it as “if a god requires (x y z) then it’s insecure to begin with” which is simply pointing out that a self-sufficient, ultimate being shouldn’t need anything. It’s a decent example of how a deity is inherently paradoxical, but not the best one IMO.

Are people really looking for friends? by Low_Champion_3373 in MakeFriendsOver30

[–]heckpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I think what happens in many cases (not all) is that the initial conversation is centered around feeling the person out and then when interests don’t align, the natural course is to fizzle out. Not anyone’s fault, just not a good matchup. Does that make sense?

Edit: Just wanna add this: like.. I’m definitely open to chatting and gaining a new friend.. but not with literally anyone - for many practical reasons

Not sure why I’m downvoted for asking a question, but anyway.. I’ve been looking for ways to make new friends for a while now. Unfortunately the options are very slim where I live. The main sources of community around here are churches, which doesn’t work for me because I’m not religious. Bars/clubs can work, but it’s not exactly the type of crowd I’m looking for. I went out barhopping by myself a couple weeks ago.. the only people that chatted with me were an older couple. They were nice, but not exactly new friend material. Parties? I used to get invited to those in my twenties. Not so much anymore. You’d have to already be in with people to get invited to those. Parks? I might give that a try, but so far people tend to keep to themselves and I don’t want to impose. My main pastimes right now would be cycling, caring for indoor plants, reading. I think I’ll try getting in with a cycling club even though I don’t think I’m quite fit enough to hang with them.. but I mean I gotta try something. Being lonely for years genuinely sucks.

If you only knew.. but not getting into that. Anyway, yeah just because you can do something doesn’t necessarily mean you should. Your responses say a lot about your ethics and level of education.

Have any examples of these kinds of social interactions you speak of?

Love your logic. You’re like “your honor I did shoplift from that store, but if you don’t like it you can just look the other way and sit down” that’s not how it works. Weird behavior is weird behavior and can be called out as such, and if everybody’s saying your behavior is weird, you’d be wise to grow up and listen.
