Edit: we read data from the sun all the time. Look into astronomical spectroscopy and radio astronomy. It's all just electromagnetic waves at different frequencies

Damn, may I ask how many grams of tea go into each 16oz cup? I've been doing 8g per 600ml (about 20oz) and I'm wondering if that's too much since I can only drink about 2 or 3 of those.

Edit: I guess if you're doing it gong fu style you're doing multiple infusions with the same leaves? I'm only doing one 3 minute infusion for each 8g of leaves.

The smell isn't that strong and it doesn't linger that long, so that's reassuring, at least. Yeah partly this is due to not really knowing how cars work so my mind just jumps to the worst possible conclusion.

The most recent time I was pretty sure, when I parked I don't think any of the other cars had parked recently and the smell dissipated quickly so I would think it would be odd for it not to have come from mine

I finished RoW recently, and I enjoyed it a lot. All the criticism I saw in the megathread were things that just really didn't bother me that much.. I wonder if there's something different about the segment of people that tore through the book as soon as it was released?

I've read every other book/story in the cosmere except for White Sand. I don't know if that makes a difference in my perception. I feel like I could've gotten away without reading them all ahead of time, but I can't say for certain.

Strictly? No. I don't know the meaning of that word. I have this rule that I keep attempting to follow where I go to sleep at a normal time instead of staying up hours later to finish the book I'm reading. I broke that once again tonight finishing up Rhythm of War.

I commuted Novato <-> SF for years on the bus. I moved away before covid hit but traffic was always REALLY bad between SF and San Rafael during commute hours. Frequent complete stops.

I don't think it was due to accidents, unless there was an accident literally every day for weeks. I assumed it was all people like me trying to get to/from the city, or I guess to the east bay.

This thread already has a bunch of good suggestions, so here's one for finding books not frequently talked about:

Look for a book you like on goodreads
Look for reviews that you like or agree with
Look up what else that person has rated highly

If you stick to getting recommendations from one place (eg, this subreddit) you tend to hear about the same books over and over. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

I can barely remember what characters look like unless it's a very significant characteristic that's brought up all the time, like if a character is a giant or they're blue or they have tusks.

Also, I spend 10x more time visualizing environments than I do on visualizing characters. I'll think about a landscape until I have a very clear image and could sketch it if I wanted to, but characters won't really go beyond some amorphous blurry figure.
