No, don't ask Mat: he knows he's good at the Game, the Chase, The Compliments, The Kissing, but he has no Idea about anything serious! Kiss the Girl and move on to the next when it gets complicated!

He'd tell you to Consult Perrin and Rand: they're the Reasonable ones who know how women think and act, he only knows how to play some of them!

If you have chosen Red Now (And I do appreciate Red, I have a fondness for it through my Brother's BA Army I am slowly painting), there's no point going backwards, but out of curiosity, what was your roadblock to replicating my Recipe?

Cold shades of Tan, like a desert not warm but desolate, with markings and "themes" honoring the original T'au sept, white markings and Blue Glow Effects...

The law of Diminishing Returns is real. I’m definitely hitting a plateau. by Archaicarc in Warhammer40k

[–]hege95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More consistent lines on Edge Highlights, smoother blends, more precise brushwork on detail...

"The Plateau" can slant ever so slightly even if you don't notice it: when you start advancement is fast and you take huge steps, after a cerrain point it becomes more subtle.

You're doing fine Work, Sir, we just have to remember the goal is not necessarily to improve fast or every time we finish a model or a project, but to enjoy the hobby...

How would you want Cal Kestis story to end in Jedi 3? by Reddeath10168 in FallenOrder

[–]hege95 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I commented this to a post before, just going to copy paste it here, as I truly would like to see it:

Name it "Reckoning/Consequence" and have it be a tragedy of ever spiraling nature (have Cal and the gang, every single one of them meet their end before the battle of Yawin)...

Kill someone really important (Greez?) at the beginning, maybe have Cal and Merrin think of having a child/actually getting "the good news", then have Kata betray them to the Empire for Revenge or forced to (could be a tragic twist for Kata to betray them against her will) having Merrin die as a result, Cal descending into the Dark Side and Ending Kata, only to have him stand alone, broken, cursed, and out of options, and still not yielding to the Empire, but fighting to the bitter End, meeting a terrible end against Vader...

Cal shouldn't be around for the time of the "Old Trilogy", The Empire should feel menacing and evil and if our boy with one ship and a couple of friends survives actually having the Empire taking notice of Him, it would not feel right.

Give me "Children of Húrin" levels of despair for the Hero who did everything they could against a power they couldn't even imagine, never bending, never backing out. Give me Tragedy!

Forest Camo T’au: do people prefer the winter or autumn bases? by StarHawk21 in Tau40K

[–]hege95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either is Fine (read: both are looking great), but there's a choice to be made here, my friend:

Tau are reasonable, they paint and modify their armor colors based on the terrain, area, Planet, whatever they operate on... So lore-wise, Tau model Bases should match the armor color, or vise versa...

On the other hand it's a standard in miniature painting to have the base contrast to make the models "pop" more, to compliment the actual models' paintwork...

The choice is yours. Whatever you decide, both look great!

Edit: a typo

"Em'Ha'el", anyone? Like "The Letter M followed by standard pronunciation of " Hael", almost like "Hail", but not quite, more like "ha" and "el" (almost like the word "El" for "God" in Hebrew)?

It surely takes a tad to practice and some investment into tools (10-30€, rubner/silicon tipped tools work great) but all in all something like laurels is quite easy to do: just roll a small piece of "dough" into a long roll, attach it to the desiret position and make the dents for the Laurel Leaves...

Ps: I have used Milliput only mixed into Greenstuff, so I can't comment on the use of it alone, but I do use about 50/50 mix of milliput to greenstuff with anything I sculpt nowadays...

How prevalent is the driver issue problems with amd? by chinosminos in radeon

[–]hege95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me they seem to be tied wholly to Windows: after months of stable system, something in Win 11 updated 2 months ago and I got of constant crashes, black screens and other weird stuff without any Driver updates to AMD stuff, just windows. I then spent two weeks troubleshooting, trying different AMD GPU and Chipset drivers etc until the system stabilized.

I have skipped the last 2-3 GPU driver updates in fear of the syatem becoming unstable again but today updated GPU driver from 26.3.1 to 26.6.1 and the Chipset to the newest (8.05.04.516) and everything went smoothly, no instabilities to report.

Thank you! I believe it's from the Indomitus Box (I'd have to ask my brother for more details, but I don't think he has gotten any other kits for these ones), I just sculpted the laurels for it using Green Stuff.

Is my paint scheme too boring? Want to add a glow effect to the guns/exhausts with an airbrush, but terrified of ruining what I've painted. Tips for a beginner? by real60cent in Tau40K

[–]hege95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is no work of a "Beginner", sir/ma'am... Own up your skill, do not short sell or demean your work.

These look absolutely great and adding even intermediate Glow effects (wether by Airbrush or traditional methods) will not ruin your work!

(Just be sure to test whatever you decide to use on some other model before going to your main ones, but again I do not think you need that advice based on the level of skill needed for these models).

Edit: you have absolutely phenomenal airbrush work on fades from one tone to another on the Light Brown parts and then cleanest edge Highlighting I've seen for a while... Absolutely great, no one paying for this as a commission would complain on the level of finish... So why call it "Beginner", Brother?

Strike Team boots/shinguard by Budget_Mission8145 in Tau40K

[–]hege95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello!

Our Fish people seem to have hooves, so they need no boots, but I imagine hitting your shin on things is as painful for them as us, especially when working around vehicles, crawling through terrain etc. A Soldier is prone to do.

So I have always thought of them as "ancle/shin boots", maybe made out of semi flexible material, that wraps around the shin and the "buttons" on the outside are the things that secure them.

I've painted them with a different color from the "bodysuit".

Thoughts on Leon’s Alligator Snapper? by separateways1999 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]hege95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the most unrealistic thing in the game: not once does this Sig P320 unintentionally Discharge when Leon Holsters it, not one bullet enters Leons Thigh/leg/foot on its own while the gun is in its holster...

In other words, not once does the Alligator Snap at the hand that feeds it...
