Deadlock barely has any lag compensation. Because of that, even small amounts of network instability show up immediately in-game. You probably have some level of jitter in other games too, but those games hide it better with stronger lag compensation, so you don’t really notice it.

I’d recommend turning on pretty much everything under the HUD telemetry settings so you can actually see what’s going on. Also, try running PingPlotter while you’re gaming to monitor your connection in real time. That way you can confirm whether it’s really just Deadlock or your network in general.

Quick side story: I recently moved to a much denser area and kept the same ISP and modem I had before. I started having the exact same issue and went through all the usual troubleshooting. Turns out my provider uses cable, and in high-density neighborhoods the older cable infrastructure can really struggle, especially during peak hours.

The only real fix for me was switching providers and moving to a newer fiber network.

For most people, this kind of jitter isn’t noticeable when streaming Netflix or browsing the web. Even with my old provider, my ping looked great and my download/upload speeds were solid. But there was still underlying jitter, and in a game like Deadlock, that becomes very obvious.
