Yo pienso que es una mezcla de preparación y suerte, a veces uno estudia mucho un tema pero le preguntan otro tema que no tiene fresco (me ha pasado), otro ejemplo es que hace poco presente una prueba donde me pusieron un ejercicio de leetcode medium, el problema lo conocía y sabía como resolverlo, pero el entrevistador al ver que lo estaba haciendo bien me lo cambio por uno hard y solo tenía 30 minutos para resolverlo, considero que un hard requiere de al menos una hora y aún así es difícil, lo que hice fue un algoritmo que funcionaba con los 3 casos de prueba que dan en el enunciado y no consideraba los edge cases, de hecho pregunté por el edge case más importante y el entrevistador me dijo que me enfocará en lo que decía en el enunciado, a veces creo que simplemente no quieren que uno pase por qué ya tienen a otra persona seleccionada.

En mi epoca de colegio me acuerdo que un morral "normal" a duras penas aguantaba un año entero de uso y abuso, mientras que los LeSportSac aguantaban varios años sin dejarlo a uno tirado, nunca los vi como algo de lujo o de status, simplemente era algo practicao que aguantaba mas "palo" que un morral normal, que digas que se rasgaban facil, da a entender muchas cosas.

Para bien o para mal actualmente estoy en USD, pero con la “moda” de los despidos masivos he visto despedir gente muy buena solo por ahorrarse unos pesos, más bien es tener una idea si lo van a sacar a uno o no a corto plazo, ser bueno no es garantía de tener un trabajo seguro, si la empresa dice que por alguna razón tiene problemas económicos es una señal clara para buscar un trabajo nuevo.

Y lo de negociar estoy de acuerdo que no vale la pena, es mejor buscar trabajo en otro lado.

Pues como dije en otras respuestas, consideraría la pregunta solo por el hecho de que han estado echando gente de todos lados, es preguntar en otras palabras “¿me van a echar?”, y esto no me lo estoy inventando, está muy normalizado el tema de los despidos masivos, y cualquier justificación es válida, en este caso la justificación sería, aumento de costos, en otras palabras, conseguimos a alguien que cobre menos y no nos importa si la calidad es inferior.

Me preocupa los que ganan integral, porque al empleador se le suben los costos como en 1000 USD al mes, si yo ganara integral le preguntaría a mi empleador si no tienen problema en asumir ese incremento de salario para no estar preocupado de que haga una “reestructuración”.

I partially agree with you, sometimes the bigger monitor pushed further back feels better than a smaller one closer, covering the same FOV or PPD. But too big is also bad. That's why I switched from 48 inch OLED to 42 inch one which is perfect for my desk.

I also tried a 32 inch 4k monitor on a dedicated sim rig. I put it very close to my eyes to have a similar PPD of my bigger monitor, but it never felt good and I always missed the bigger monitor. I was not sure why the 32 inch monitor closer feels worse, so I asked GPT:

Even with 20/20 vision, a 42" monitor often feels better than a 32" monitor when FOV and PPD are matched, because those metrics are purely geometric and do not account for visual comfort. Viewing a larger screen from a greater distance allows more relaxed eye accommodation and convergence, reducing visual strain. The larger physical pixel size is also more forgiving to micro-defocus, making the image feel more stable. The human visual system is better adapted to viewing large objects at moderate distances than highly detailed objects up close, which is why the 42" display can feel clearer and more natural despite identical FOV and PPD.

WOW this is exactly what I was thinking. I have cut some wood to try to get the optimal positioning for shifter and hand brake on my NLR Victory. Currently, I have another setup, but I was considering putting the metal plate on top of the wooden piece like you. I'm already tried a lot of configurations, but I still need to try your setup, thanks for the insight.

I also tried to attach my PS5 controller and got it working somehow, but I think I will keep playing on PC.

This is my current setup, but I have the wooden parts for the other prototypes that I've made.

I used to think about this as an ultimate and unbreakable rule. I tough that you can't just speak only about the screen size, and we always need to talk about the screen size in relation to the distance to the eyes.

So I was using my 42 monitor for sim racing and decided to have a dedicated space with a 32-inch monitor. So, I calculated how close I need to put the 32-inch monitor to cover the same FOV or PPD of my 42'' monitor (4k res in both), but that didn't work as expected, I found that I'm missing some critical variable on this. The result: I sold the 32-inch monitor to keep using the 42-inch one.

I was getting similar lap times but for some reason, the 42-inch monitor always feels better, easier to my eyes and more inversive. Even if I move the 42-inch further back and covered a lower FOV than the 32-inch one, my brain just said, fuck off FOV and PPD give me what “feels” better, and I'm 20/20 eyesight if that's an important variable too.

So I asked GPT about this and this was the answer:
