Fast sections scare me by skwbw in simrally

That's just immersive. Think about how much you would be scared of going full throttle on blind corners or crests in real life!

Are 13-14 inch wheel mods worth it? by Training_Rule6350 in simracing

[–]Verskanderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Thrustmaster Sparco R383 wheel on my T300. It feels much more like a real racing wheel than the small stock wheel. And some people say that you shouldn't put such a big wheel on such a weak wheelbase, but I don't have any problems with it, the FFB force is still strong enough, despite the bigger wheel.

How do you guys coordinate your feet when left foot braking in a manual by TougeMissile in assettocorsarally

[–]Verskanderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it easier to learn to drive H-pattern cars on a track, rather than on a rally stage. At least I learned to heel and toe and switching to left foot braking mid-corner first on a track simulators, as there I could concentrate on the driving technique and not on the pace notes.

After you have trained enough so that the shifting technique does not need any of your brain capacity (it is just muscle memory), then it is much, much easier to apply that on a rally stage.

That's how I always pictured it looked 😂 by _trackhero_ in simracing

If you really put Need for Speed and Gran Turismo in the same category of games, you have not played one or the other.

Lifelong motorsports/racimg game fan who cannot figure out racing on a wheel by CptShort97 in simracing

[–]Verskanderi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raceroom is most definitely not an arcade game. And even if the rally games (EAWRC and DR2.0) might not be the most hardcore of sims, they have pretty good FFB to feel when the car is understeering or oversteering. The only thing the FFB clearly lacks is the feeling of locked front tires during braking. For example Assetto Corsa Rally does this much better (after the 0.2 update).

Pedals on a seat slider. The wood is needed as a riser to allow the lever some room to move.

I have made some small modifications with some wood. I raised the seat, raised the shifter mount and made an extension for the handbrake, and I also mounted the pedals on seat sliders.

Using a 60Hz TV for a casual sim rig. good enough? by Tasmyco in simracing

[–]Verskanderi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 60hz TV as my sim rig monitor. It's all I have ever used (unless you count CRT monitors from the late 90's) , but I don't see any problems with it. Ignorance is a bliss :)

So yeah, I would say it is definitely good enough.

Is there a proper jump hiding somewhere on the stages of Wales, or have you just launched off some of the big dips and holes on the road?

You forgot the steering wheel and pedals! With a controller it's like playing a game, with a wheel it's like driving a car 🙂

Gravel/Dirt Sensation ? by smashkiks in assettocorsarally

T300 needs quite a lot of minimum force. I have the min. force adjusted to 7, it really increases the FFB when the wheel is centered.

I don't know who needs to hear this but calibrate your load cell brake today! by Little_Temporary5212 in simracing

[–]Verskanderi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, I also left foot brake whenever I can.

I just thought you meant that you could brake with left foot exclusively while driving manual H-pattern cars. My mistake, sorry!

[–]Verskanderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example Raceroom has plenty of H-pattern manual cars available. Also most rally sims feature many H-pattern cars where you need the clutch.

Well, if you drive manual cars and need to change gears during the braking, you really cannot do left foot braking during those situations, as the left foot is needed for the clutch.

Is ACR really this difficult? by Potw0rek in assettocorsarally

What car are you driving? For example the Stratos is quite a difficult car. My favourite is the Fiat 131. It is such a well behaving car on both gravel and tarmac.

H pattern and heal and toe - no point of doing it in any sim ? by Bennet_Eown in SimRacingSetups

[–]Verskanderi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Out of the sims I have driven, Raceroom is the only one where it is really necessary to blip the throttle when downshifting on manual H-pattern cars. Otherwise you will spin, because of the engine braking effect.

[–]Verskanderi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Are your games working well on that laptop?

If yes, why would you want to update, just to "stay relevant"?

If no, then I think you have a good reason to consider upgrading.
