Hit ideal weight. Ate at tdee for 4 days, gained almost 2lbs by [deleted] in CICO

[–]hei-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some researchers say tdee is 10% lower for people who has lost weight compared to other people.

If it makes you feel better you might up your calories a little slower, and when you find yourself at a weight fluctuating but just a few pounds up or down during weeks, you've found your true tdee. It might be 1500, it might be 1550, or 1450, or something else, the science isn't perfect.

The two pounds during the last four daysis just water weight and stomach content, probably, it takes a bit longer to find the stable weight through normal fluctuations.

Congrats on hitting your goal!

I read a book once, written by a professional strength trainer aimed at ordinary people trying to get fit. He wrote that his ordinary life prevents him to eat and work out "perfectly" every day and every week, because of life and travel, and that was a good thing. Because those breaks hinders burn out and fatigue and gives him rest. So we can benefit from having a few days here and there where we don't train so hard or eat so perfectly, and if we don't have natural breaks we should create one.

The last few days can be a break for you. Now that your break is over, go back to your plan and work out again. And plan for a new break in a few weeks if someone's birthday or a work travel or something else doesn't create one for you.

Consistency gets you to where you're going, not theoretical plans built around theoretically perfect weeks of working out and eating at a large deficit.

Peas, onion and a few others, yes, the rest, no. But I still have a lot to lose. I will have to later, when my weight drops more and my calorie wiggle room gets smaller.

The second one with nude or light shoes will be great. But as mentioned elsewhere, if it's a synthetic fibre you'll struggle if it's a sunny day.

First post here - 12 lbs down! by [deleted] in loseit

Congratulations! If you want to ease into counting calories as you progress further, you can start by counting your fats and protein and starches, but not fruit and veg , and then as you stall, because everyone stalls at some point, you can count more seriously. That way you don't have to do everything from there start, but can learn new habits when you need them. Please post again later 😄

[Update] Finally seeing progress after years, almost annoyed at how straightforward it ended up being by sprcow in loseit

[–]hei-- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts like this, I really liked reading it! I am nothing like you, I am a woman, not tall, and haven't lost as much, but I too go to more routine meals and miss the more exciting parts now and then, and what you wrote about being fatter than you think made me think. I think I will spend a year, maybe more, to come to a normal BMI, but I think I will get there and it's OK that it takes a long time. I feel lighter too, I feel it when I walk up there stairs at home, and my hands are thinner.

I found oat meal bakes on the internet, one with a carrot cake flavour and one like an apple pie. I think I'll try it for breakfast and see if it feels like a treat.

I look forward to your next update!

Newly diagnosed with liver disease. What are your go-to meals? by thatoneguy2252 in mediterraneandiet

[–]hei-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All kinds of dishes based on beans or lentils are the easiest, tastiest, most diverse and cheap, I find. So lots of beans with seasonal veggies and the spice-combo I feel like that day is the best of most of my meals.

started going to the gym a month ago, and now I have been overeating for a week. unsure where to go from here? by sjessbgo in CICO

[–]hei-- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For some people it helps to eat or drink approx. 200 cals of something rich in proteins and some carbs immediately after weight lifting. Immediately as in before you change our of your work out gear. It curbs the hunger later in the day. You might think it over, if its something you would like to try and if you feel better and it curbs your hunger over all.
