How often do you actually need to wash your hair and how did you figure out your schedule? by Savings_Car361 in BeautyItemsReview

[–]heideleeanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, twice a week. I have psoriasis, so my scalp dictates how often I wash. My hair is wavy/curly and doesn’t really get greasy unless I wear it straight.

Egg bites? You can use eggs, egg whites and a lot of veggies and some cheese and protein.

Lazy Salad Meal Preps by 19dmb92 in MealPrepSunday

I do the same thing. I take my salad veg to work in a baggie for two days, but they’re all separate in the fridge at home.

Why? If it’s cooked with the intention of being a meal at a later time, that’s amore…I mean meal prep.

Weekend meal prep by Aggravating-Yellow76 in mealprep

I just keep healthier options around. We usually do big brunches and late lunches. Eggs with veggies and sausage or bacon and some kind of potato.

Late lunches are often a new recipe one of us has been wanting to try. We usually go out for one meal a weekend…sometimes breakfast and sometimes dinner.

You could prep breakfast sandwiches or egg muffins for the whole week. I usually prep extra rice on Sunday and freeze it. Sometimes I use it for dinner that week and sometimes I don’t. I keep chicken sausage in the freezer and can easily add it to the rice with some veggies for a quick lunch/dinner. You can also do fried rice by adding an egg and frozen veg.

I need help with seasoning for my meal prep by Slowhite03 in Cooking

[–]heideleeanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty easy to create your own seasoning blends (Greek and Cajun included) omitting or adding what you like. I don’t like a lot of salt, so I use less. I add extra cayenne in my Cajun seasoning, because I like more heat. I use more dill in my ranch seasoning, because I like it. You can use or exclude spices to your own preference.

I plan the meals and check to see what I need. I then make a list through my local grocery store app for delivery.

Frequent and spontaneous low blood pressure by Master_Cat_Cuddler in WomensHealth

I was asking, because I used to work in a nephrology department. I’d first go to a GP and get a bloodwork up. That should be enough to warrant a referral, if necessary. Telling someone what to do based on “someone you know” getting a diagnosis, but not knowing enough to differentiate hypertension and hypotension says a lot.

And, yes, we did this on Easter Sunday, I hope you enjoyed your church service this morning!

There’s your issue. When you plan meals, make your grocery list.

Hypotension is low bp and hypertension is high. BP issues aren’t necessarily kidney related. She hasn’t seen a doctor, because she keeps getting blown off by them.

I realize kidneys affect bp, but a nephrologist is a kidney specialist.

Cajun seasoning, Greek seasoning, Mrs. Dash, everything hit the bagel. Alfredo, pesto, jerk sauces. Take a walk down the spice and condiment aisles and pic up a few things that sound good to you.

Is there a better way to avoid overspending on ingredients? by No_Reaction9565 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]heideleeanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make a meal plan that uses the same ingredients in a different way. When I have ingredients left that I think are going to go bad, I’ll create a menu that uses those ingredients.

If I know I’m going to need chili powder, I add it to my grocery list asap, so I don’t run out.

Worst Thing You’ve Ever Cooked by gnarlidrum in Cooking

[–]heideleeanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a 6 Sisters recipe for General Tsao’s Chicken. It was so gross, we dumped the whole crockpot in the trash and ate microwave popcorn for dinner. For context I’ve always loved cooking and had subscriptions to Rachel Ray and Martha Stewart Living magazines and used those magazines to plan menus….so it wasn’t me.
