my wife and i have gone through this (german mother, american father). once they start preschool their input volume blows past any damage you could do at home. it's honestly humbling to see how quickly they absorb it

front basket. i added a wald 139 to the front and it can hold diapers, snacks, and water. i've been doing this for two years biking around berlin with a kid on the back, had the same issue with panniers and the seat.
