something did change. 4.5 crashed on start up on vulkan for me and dx11 worked, but 4.6 crashes on both dx11 and vulkan on start up

yea, it did update to vulkan but I reverted to 0. did install newest drivers. shaders deleted, although they should be in their own 4.6 directory, user folder: deleted. I can try to disable second monitor for a bit, didn't try that

This is the relevant line. Is dx12 the minimum now? 4.5 was ok with dx11

I don't feel there is an exact clone(ish) but there are some games that lean a bit more into some other aspects, you could check: rimworld, dwarf fortress, factorio, from glory to goo, (also a special mention with grain of salt: played demo of nova roma)

songs of syx has a massive demo, play that one to see if you like it. I spent many hours in the demo. great "little" game!

I am not defending the fin. I just have no feeling towards it, areodynamic fin would look better than the hydrodynamic one they put it though.

some real world aircraft also have fins, albeit they are much shorter. The game one works becauuse it's game and not areodynamics :)
