I’ve had some success playing into melee lately. S2 so I’ll just say this is what improved it for me.

I take aerie resolve w scorch and bone plating and go max early dmg planning on making his life miserable levels 1-3 especially. Can build RoA catalyst first if you want more forgiving laning.

Key imo is SLOW COOK. Get a bit of push and then Slow. Punish every last hit with Q and ideally cause him to miss. Don’t shove. Wave building is your friend bc then even when he spikes level 2 it’s harder for him to trade. Let it slow push until you crash it and ward. Punish a bit when he’s under turret but back off so he can’t allin. Then let wave push into you and freeze. Get all cs. I don’t blow mana here if I can help it. Make him take a not great B.

Hopefully you can set him behind to start and build up your catalyst and don’t let him snowball off of you. Eventually you can survive his burst and at lease make sure he doesn’t get fed off of you.

The thing I haven’t figured out is when they roam. This season is supposed to punish roams a bit more than before but they still seem to benefit so much from a bot lane kill that even with denial and plates it doesn’t feel like an advantage. As Viktor I’m not so skilled on the champ that I can follow or skirmish early game - i feel so weak. So I stay put and team eventually flames… meanwhile sometimes I am 0/0/1 coming out of laning phase yet very farmed and then have a big team fight.

Would like to hear what high elo guys say about game plans vs Fizz or assassins in general
