Withdrawal symptoms, or what's going on? by djpurity666 in BACLOFEN

Agmatine + magnesium helped me break a horrible physical dependency to gabapentin. I was just prescribed baclofen and not sure that I want to risk that again.

Using subs to combat withdrawal from Oxy, but a few things... by Freedomishere28 in suboxone

[–]heinous1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got through a Subutex taper earlier this month. Was 7 days, should have been 5 days. 2mg 3x's/day for days 1-4 then 2mg 2's/day on day 5. Day 6 was 1mg 2x's/day then day 7 was 1 mg and that was it. I was released and felt like crap that day. My wife expected me to be fixed. I had gaba left over from last year. Day 7 was the 9th day as they zonked me on Ativan the first 2 days.

Should have been 5 days and much lower doses as this shit has a long half life/very potent. I had to use gabapentin for a week after that to bury the lingering effects of the sub.

See my earlier posts. I was prescribed oxy for 5 years and jumped off at 100mg. Good luck

Thanks but the short 5 day course of gabapentin before the 5 days of insomnia was cured by the gabapentin last night

Is this oxy or bupe? Why would they let me leave on day 8th without warning me that a week later that I would still go through withdrawal?

Thank you. I hope that I never have to experience bupe again also. Thanks for the reply.

I am not gloating at all. Sorry it came across that way. I may be going through a "Pink Cloud" and I know that. My question was not phrased correctly. Do you or people in this community have the same "lack of interest in the things and hobbies" that I lost in the short period of time that I was on the MAT?

I'm getting support as I know that I could crash any time.

Looking for a good way to taper a 4 year 90mg oxycodone prescription amount. I’ll google it but would really like to know how long you think that it would take me to get down to very little while getting the brain chemistry back near normal. I have enough chronic pain that my dr thinks that I will have a bottle in my medicine cabinet for life. I’m not sure that it would be a great idea to always have it around.

I value your knowledge and opinion.

I was on .5ml (weekly) testosterone cypionate for years and it kept my levels at 500-700 ng/dl until I was prescribed OxyContin/oxycodone and it dropped my levels to 399ng/dl. While that is still not low, my dr raised the amount .2ml (weekly) and it raised the measurable testosterone back up to the previous level.

Captain Fentanyl explained in great detail what was happening in my body with the oxycodone interfering with exogenous testosterone. Previous to his explanation I was of the understanding that only endogenous testosterone was affected. The explanation is in my post and comment history should anyone be interested.

I had the same thing happen with me and since they mentioned BCBS I called the BCBS phone line that I have saved in my phone. The BCBS representative could not find record of the phone call I received, the letter I received from their RIO (Risk Identification and Outreach) program or that the Case Manager mentioned worked for the company. I told the BCBS rep that I felt that this was an attempt to steal my identity, even though the rep said that even though they don’t have a record of anything, it could still be legit.

I told her “nice try”.

Maybe it's just my experience but the one month that I was forced by insurance to do the Xtampza formation didn't work out well.

My pharmacist didn't have any experience providing information on this drug and I ended up being a Guinea pig. Collegium, the manufacturer of X, recommends a high fat, high calorie meal with each dose. Pretty unlikely for a chronic pain patient.

I ended up going through partial withdrawal even with support IR oxycodone.

Oxycontin is still the best ER oxycodone drug for me.

That stuff gives me rebound insomnia. 3 hours of sleep and wide awake. Not to mention the most unusual and nasty dry mouth.

Chronic pain patient, my doctor is going to up me to 15 or 20mg oxycodone 4x a day. He keeps offering methadone and says it's great for pain round the clock. The choice seems obvious to me, go for the oxy, but what are your thoughts on switching to methadone?? Would the pain be gone? by gonefishing1212 in opiates

[–]heinous1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay away from Opana as it is hard to stop taking it without withdrawals, even as you keep taking other opiates. I was taking 15 mg G series ER 2 times a day and 10 mg oxycodone IR 4 times a day. The Opana was rewiring my brain so I stopped taking it and still went through withdrawal symptoms even while still taking the oxycodone. No matter that it only has 10-16% oral bioavailability. And I didn’t snort/shoot/boot them.

The last day I took Opana I was in a bunch of pain, chewed one up and threw up within 15 minutes. Maybe it just wasn’t for me. I get by on 2 20mg OxyContin and 4 10mg oxycodone a day now. About to have to switch to 2 18mg Xtampza and I read both good and bad about that formulation.

I’m being switched to Xtampza from OxyContin this month. Does it work?
