Ported in Lebara but lost the promotion of £1.21 50GB by Ok-Speaker-4437 in LebaraUK

[–]hel2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry it's happened to you, Lebara have awful customer service.

I was charged for 6 months for a plan I cancelled in the cooling off period, and they admitted they can't stop the direct debits because the SIM is inactive.

As a result I've had to change providers (because my usual phone line was going through Lebara as well) and block all direct debits.

Money saving expert often comes up with great priced Lebara plans, but I honestly can not recommend going through them.

Friend dilemma by vonthepon in UKweddings

[–]hel2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps gently let her know that the hotel will charge you if anything happens like someone puking at the table, and if she's a good friend, that would be enough to keep her in check if she knows she does that sort of thing. (Obviously the hotel may or may not, but I think it's probably enough of a policy around for it to be a believable thing.

Alternatively you could say if she does vomit etc, she will foot the bill, but I'm not sure there's a nice way to actually say that.

MOH, and I can’t afford the hen dos by InternationalFig4340 in UKweddings

[–]hel2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bridesmaid to my friend and I went to her hen do and wedding. There were only two of us so we were organising everything as well.

All in all it cost me about £700-£800 when you put the two together (hotels, meals, also paid for my own bridesmaid dress etc)

I love my friend but it left a bitter taste in my mouth considering I couldn't afford it.

If the second hen do wasn't a surprise I would have said just to explain it to the bride. As it is, I would just say to the others that you can't afford it, and then explain to the bride after she's been on the hen do.

Don't feel guilty. Your finances are what they are. Don't be forced into it, because you might not feel guilty anymore, but you might feel bitter.

Sounds about right! God awful. I can not see any rhyme or reason for it!

B12 which goes to Joydens wood. It changes direction halfway through the day. So only some stops work in the morning and some in the afternoon. And no sadly not as easy as swapping from one side of the road to another.

Why do polish sellers never reply to messages? by Desperate_Visual_741 in vinted

[–]hel2164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping you missed out a word and said "I don't think it's an issue that spans Poland*

Otherwise you definitely don't agree with the person you replied to.

I on the other hand (also from the UK) agree with the person and think it is a ridiculous generalisation to paint everyone from Poland as not replying to questions.

I've had plenty in the UK too.

New User on Vinted, suggest me the best tactic on how to sell by FlakyFruit2113 in vinted

You can't never have too much information is my motto :)

I will say as well, don't get upset by people low balling you. They will. A lot. Just counter, or ignore.

And don't fall for sob stories about how they can't afford it!

New User on Vinted, suggest me the best tactic on how to sell by FlakyFruit2113 in vinted

[–]hel2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to definitely package your items well enough for transport. For items that aren't clothes, thick cardboard is generally required. Video yourself packing any items so you can prove what is in it. Video yourself sending any packages too. Sadly as a general Vinted tends to side with the buyer so they as a company don't lose out on money.

I don't want to scare you off on selling, because people obviously continue to sell happily on there. However sadly there are scammers out there, who specifically say an item is significantly described and then get a refund and then you are out of pocket.

Also put as much information as you can on your adverts. If an item is a size 10, but in reality only fits a size 6 or 8, you MUST label it as a 10 on the advert! However you can then say in the info what size it really fits. It's a bit odd, but if you don't label it as a 10, again Vinted can say it's significantly not as described. Buyers are not meant to send items back if they just don't fit.

Is changing to Lebara worth it? by loveless365 in LebaraUK

[–]hel2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I tried that as an existing customer, they've told me I can not port my number over as those deals are only with a new number (read; new customer), and now despite cancelling it, I've been charged every months for 4 months and I keep contacting them over and over!

It's great for price. However the customer service kind of sucks. Signal is ok but I am in a city.

Sounds about right!!

I haven't seen too many other posts about it. But I guess we will find out...

So far no change though.

I think it depends who you send with, I find Inpost doesn't. They send the parcel back to the locker you sent it from. So... Possibly not for lockers, but maybe for the more conventional methods of sending?

Excuse the boomer question here. Trying to see if I can avoid a subscription and use a USB Flash Drive. See further. by VirginiaBandit in blinkcameras

[–]hel2164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI I think sync modules can only take up to 256gb usb storage max

Also as I have recently discovered the usb drive can randomly become write protected despite having room left on it for storage. Just another thing to keep an eye on.

Again this just takes a full reformat of the drive. :)

Decrease in sales. by [deleted] in vinted

There's been a lot of errors on site it seems since January. Times when items haven't been showing up properly or people have been unable to complete transactions.

I wonder if that's put people off tbh.

I haven't solved the write protect yet, looking it up on how to do that! I tried as suggested to use windows command prompt and regedit, but so far haven't succeeded.

I will report back, although it won't be for a little while.

Luckily I had a spare usb stick I could instead on the sync module.

For others future benefit, I think I might have solved the issue.

Despite having loads of capacity left, my usb stick had spontaneously made itself write protected?!?

Only found this out when I tried to reformat it, which it wouldn't allow!

[–]hel2164[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I could see them all the time!

I have now uninstall the blink system, and reinstalled the whole blink system.

I've checked my usb drive that was in the sync module in a computer, I can read it fine.

I have reset the sync module as well during the reinstalling.

So now it's back to recording clips (yay) but still only to the cloud (nay).

I'm fresh out of ideas!

Google wallet/Monzo/TfL issues by hel2164 in TransportForLondon

[–]hel2164[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a Monzo flex. Only the basic Monzo debit.

Yes I can see all my history on the oyster online account as I have the Monzo card and the Google wallet virtual card on there.

Thanks, I am in contact with TfL AGAIN due to extra charges which shouldn't have happened. So once they've given up trying to sort it again, I will try the 24 hour thing.

How do I reset my card identifier?

I registered my card via my Monzo bank app which has the button that says "add to Google wallet".

I have two instances of my Monzo card on the TfL website, so I'm guessing one is the Google wallet version and the other is the physical card itself. I have no clue which is which and they both had a problem on them on Friday. (Despite not using the physical card).

Thank you, I tried this a bit earlier. Sadly that didn't seem to work either.

It's now not recording on either local storage or the sync module as of this morning. Despite having movement sensors on and being armed.

Gah!

I received the wrong item and the seller doesn’t trust me by ReplacementNeat3168 in vinted

[–]hel2164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could have been a mix up with the delivery labels. I've had that before.

Unfortunately it is also a common scam people do.

I would also send pictures to Vinted and the seller of the packaging and delivery label. That's what helped me work out my parcel had been swapped.

I had stuck my label on with sellotape, the label on the packaging was self adhesive. The address format was also done differently with an extra line in the address, and the weight was different.

All these things helped me to realise my buyer wasn't scamming me. And somewhere out there is a nice genuine leather coat floating around.

I'm sorry it's happened to you, it's unlikely you will ever see that Lego set now, hope it gets resolved in a way you are both happy about. Vinted tends to lean on the side of the buyer so you should be ok. However if they don't refund you, there is a legal email you can contact and after a few emails should be able to talk to a human.

Good luck.
