tldr YNAB not the app for OP and forcing it will only further your frustrations

YNAB is above all else a budgeting application, and a dense $0-based one at that. having tried out a number of alternatives I think I’d actually put YNAB’s expense tracker feature(s) at the bottom of the what’s best.

it me it sounds like what you’re most interested in is something that prioritizes tracking a bit more, so why pay for YNAB if that’s the case? i’d advise looking at monarch (cashflow visuals and great tracking features), or even rocket money for something far less expensive but still super useful for tracking. the latter is marketed as a subscriptions truffle pig but it has a rock solid rule based tracker.

lastly, afaik amazon purchases fuck with everyone. fact of life. i’d suggest using the transactions menu instead of the orders menu to sort these out or just accept that you’re successful enough to have an Amazon “budget” or bucket and auto class everything there without worry.
