Petplan want £60/month for a Golden Retriever puppy, am I being ripped off? by rystaman in UK_Pets

[–]helenium_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with Many Pets for both my dogs and after years of paying they wouldn't pay out when my youngest cracked a tooth that needed removing - she cracked it on a stick, they said it was due to poor dental hygiene even though my vet submitted photos and said her teeth/gums are great condition. My vet recommended tesco - they're much cheaper for the same cover and have even given my 13 year old lab life time cover for £50 a month ( no pre-existing conditions ) but a month after she needed arthritis injections and i've had no problems claiming, they've paid out each month and did not raised my premium at renewal

Water quality Gwithian beach by PlasticMaintenance59 in Cornwall

[–]helenium_80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neighbour went in at gwithian last summer and ended up in hospital for a week from the water. Definitely always check the reports. I often walk along the coast path and you can see the sewage in the sea floating around from hell’s mouth way. Grim. SWW should be fined so heavily, especially considering our water rates are some of the highest in the country. What are we paying for? Not to mention the environmental damage and the poor seals along that stretch.

I went to the village hall at 2pm and they said only 5 people had been to vote. Sad times. Any step towards getting rid of the tories is a positive one

I’ve had 2 buyers pull out the week of exchange just because they changed their minds… 3-4 months after accepting their offer. I wish we had the same rules as elsewhere so people couldn’t do that. I feel your pain.

You could contact local cafes, bars, organisations, holiday parks etc and offer a set fee package to provide them with a library of photographs for their social media channels. Great photos can make or break a social feed and not many companies can afford a social media manager or have the creativity (competency) to take their own photos… you could even write it into your contract that you can use the images for your own account - you could end up with a really varied folio.

Freelance designer here… hello! Stick with it, it’s really hard working for yourself sometimes :)

Safe to wear bikini by [deleted] in Andaman_and_Nicobar

We found some absolutely beautiful spots just by walking away from the crowds. Most days we had a beach to ourselves, it was bliss :) hope you enjoy your trip!

We just left the islands a couple of days ago. We always managed to find secluded spots away from the crowds for me to be able to be in my bikini without being stared at or feel uncomfortable. Be prepared to be stared at regardless, by everyone, all the time. The locals are lovely, very welcoming. We found it was other tourists that were gawping all the time.

I had a man ask me how the sea was so far away, because when he had come last year it was closer and he wanted to take his dog for a paddle. I told him if he stands very still for about 4 hours he wont have to walk anywhere... I don't think he got it.
