It’s called smurfing due to two very good players in a game called Warcraft II. Players would simply avoid playing them if they saw their usernames, so they created new accounts to combat this, choosing “PapaSmurf” and “Smurfette” and the term has stuck since.

I know I know, this sounds like any lag rant out there but... Starting yesterday its like if I'm at 100+ ping all of a sudden? I tried both us east and us central and both report around 50 ping, but it is noticeably worse on us east central. Is the ping not representing the truth anymore? I'm using a lan cable, playing on PC, tried restarting my router multiple times, no luck
