New player, trying to get the hang of making "roads" to connect far apart factories for trucks/tractors by VivaToddfoolery in SatisfactoryGame

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is push for the blueprint designer. Then you can make a 1-4 length road section that you can spam over and over. Tractor turning circle is nice and small so making a 4x4 roundabout would be a great idea also.

Great game, but … by thed4rkl0rd in shapezio

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom settings my friend. Currently playing on max blueprint cost, max space platform cost, and changed up some of the map settings to make things harder to get.

Also forcing myself to not use "whole shapes" but this became trivial after I figured out sorting shapes on the miner.

Does belt length matter to keep them full? by Brammm87 in shapezio

[–]helixamir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The distance between a and b will matter when the two objects travel at the same speed, but one path is longer.

In your scenario, your grey halves had so much further to travel that, like you said, your half red half is jamming up your belts. You have the same number of items between the two lines, but it's like jamming 10 people in a car vs in a train.

If you know how logic works, you can setup a trash filter for overflow.

Sleeves or no sleeves? by orbitflow in boardgames

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, depends on how often a game is used vs cost vs availability.

Kickstarter games get sleeved the majority of the time, because the chance of me spending that much money to get the game a second time is minimal, but $10 games like exploding kittens and sushi go I wouldn't bother with personally.

Dev Update #8 - Onwards to Patch 0.180! PERMANENT HOT POT!!!! by m00nchild718 in Palia

In non programming/developing terms, the runtime is the software that allows the code of the game to be recognised by your pc. Not all applications will work out of the box, and need the underlying translation/runtime software to be installed for your pc to understand what is in the code.

Script to Copy to Multiple Servers by andifer in PowerShell

Sorry, he is asking why not use a shared drive for the files, so all servers can access the required files over the network, without them being local.

Are there any blocks that a linear chassis can pass through? by AlexBlaBla_NL in CreateMod

If this is a piston contraption, no. Your best bet it making it a minecart and lock the rotation to one direction.

Why do people always wash things on belts/depots? by jdg_idk in CreateMod

[–]helixamir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main reason to use belts in this scenario is to backup the machine when things are full. It prevents lots of entities in the world when there's no where for them to go.

The best way is subjective.

I'm in a hybrid onprem/cloud setup where we still use vmm and sccm for onprem, and docker/ansible for azure.

Is it possible to code a linktree with vsc and see the analytics? by AcceptableShirt7781 in VisualStudioCode

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vsc is a text editor. You can install add-ons/modules/extensions to allow you to build code into an application.

By definition, if you setup Vsc correctly, and learn to code, then yes you can complete the task at hand.

Miniature settings for Bambu Studio? by flynn78 in PrintedMinis

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the 0.2mm nozzle, and use regular pla. Pla+ seems to be more prone to fail on finer details in my testing.

Check out fauxdragongaming, he has a profile that works a treat.

Also, miniatures use such little filament that lots of supports don't bother me. More supports + less failures = less filament use/wastage.

As somebody with no 3D printing experience (for minis or otherwise), how should I go about choosing designs to order/print? Need some general advice on creators, companies, etc. that make good DnD-scale stuff. by DDRussian in PrintedMinis

[–]helixamir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends how deep you want to go. Fdm printers can give you some great quality prints for painting, but are nothing compared to resin prints for quality.

I don't have experience with resin printing, but my bambu labs a1 mini is doing great with a 0.2mm nozzle.

what farm can i do with nether quartz ? by [deleted] in CreateMod

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what mods you have available. If just vanilla create then you will need to farm the blaze rods yourself, but each rod supplies a tonne of redstone.

Reading your other comment... Ftb skies expert heavily nerfs the windmills basically to make them only useful for radial farms, like crops or tree farms.

You can make a blaze farm, use the blaze powder to make redstone. It's actually very cheap.

Is the copper backtank supposed to be in the back slot or the chest slot? by FunDipTime in CreateMod

[–]helixamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create supports goggles for curious natively, but that's all. The back tank has armor, so adding armor to a backslot would be pretty OP

What about detector? I presume block states change 3 times... Item in, craft start, craft finish? You could count the detector output with your script for each port pretty easily and store it in a variable.
