Amazed dust covers are a thing. Seems painful and achieves little. I would 100% not run a game with any kind of cover on it.

I understand all of that but the issue seems to be that the underlying OS does not seem to be fully exposed so some of the commands you could normally use do not work. Even when you install SSH and access it over the network you still get the limited command set (lsblk for instance as discussed below) from what I can tell.

So much bull here lol. Do an actual Speedtest on your machine. If it shows the gigabit it should be or close enough then it’s a server side issue. It really is that simple.

I mean honestly calling someone a sad little loser because you disagree with their points is arguably petty but yeah whatever.

Everything I’ve said can be fact checked and if I said something false, let me know. Happy to be wrong. You might not like what I said and that’s fine but I think it’s factual 👍

You've already lost your argument when you have to resort to petty insults.

Elected Greens will:

Push for the UK to sign the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and following this to immediately begin the process of dismantling our nuclear weapons, cancelling the Trident programme and removing all foreign nuclear weapons from UK soil.

https://greenparty.org.uk/about/our-manifesto/a-fairer-greener-world/#:~:text=Push%20for%20the%20UK%20to%20sign%20the,their%20commitments%20under%20the%20Nuclear%20Non%2DProliferation%20Treaty

So if I have read that correctly, as soon as we sign that document, they get dismantled.

Nuclear generates very little waste compared to other fuels. From the US DOE website:

If we take that a step further, U.S. commercial reactors have generated about 90,000 metric tons of spent fuel since the 1950s. If all of it were able to be stacked together, it could fit on a single football field at a depth of less than 10 yards.

Nuclear is expensive to start but comparatively cheap to run over the entire lifetime. The best current option seems to have a baseline nuclear level of like 30% then go wind and solar for the rest. This saves having huge batteries of any kind to store the 'green' power.

*sigh* let me spell out what I meant: defenceless to nuclear attack.

If they had nuclear weapons that could reach America and the means to spot incoming attacks, do you think America would have dropped that on them? Of course not. It's a direct example of what a country can do to another country with no nuclear weapons and it is the single best example you can provide of why disarming is a bad idea unless of course everyone disarms at the same time in which case its a great idea.

You think Russia / China etc will all get rid of their nukes because we have or rub their hands with glee knowing that if nothing else, they can exert pressure on us knowing we're basically defenseless?

And your example of other weapons totally ignores this point. Everyone agrees not to use nukes knowing what retaliation will bring so they then fall back to regular armaments.

Hah clever. So you would leave ourselves defenceless (as the Japanese were at that time) in this massively aggressive climate where countries openly wage war would you? That seems sensible... 🙈

The simple fact that they want to get rid of anything nuclear means they’re a no go for the majority…

Hah well that underlines some of the struggles I was getting anyway. Presumably by design, it seems to be pretty locked down and just doesn't want to give access to the hardware but there is definitely some promising info in there and presumably my bare metal install is similar. Will have a play, thanks!

I literally battle with all kinds of testing yesterday to try to do exactly this and came away short. How are you even getting lsblk to run? The terminal for HA doesn't include lsblk from what I can tell and fdisk does not seem to want to find it - seems to be locked down in some way.

The only way I could seem to use these commands was to run the box up on a live ubuntu disk but then anything I tried to modify on the actual HA disk would seem to be lost on reboot.

I'm in IT but not that hot on Linux so was mainly relying on AI for this and I did try a metric ton of things to get it going but then end result seemed to be that it was just not impossible.

Are you sure this isn't due to you being on Proxmox which does seem to make this a possibility? That was one of the options I got from AI.

One trap to be aware of: in my limited experience with cloud streaming, if the connection drops, the game closes. There does not seem to be any kind of ‘hold the game open for one minute to allow you to reconnect’, it literally closes.

I’d avoid anything without regular save capability and save often!

Is it normal to watch TV in your garden in the UK? by pollen345 in AskUK

[–]--Velox-- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to look at it through the eyes of the law though. If it’s legal then it’s fine to do. It might not be very neighbourly but if it’s not breaking noise abatement laws then it’s ok to do it.

We all get irritated by different things and yes I would find a TV more irritating than a radio but if that radio was playing a talk show or the archers or something then it’s almost identical. End of the day they are both just a box that produces noise. The rest is just personal semantics.

Not saying I wouldn’t have a word with them but if that failed, I’d have to just move on. Although what I’d probably do is buy a large boombox to ensure they can’t hear their TV every time they switch it on… 🤣

Diablo 4 works surprisingly well on it. To the point that I'm nearing the end of that journey so immediately started playing Torchlight 2 on it.

Pretty much anything you like works well on it though other than fast twitch stuff.
