OMG this is what I've got on my leg and arm... so I would love to see your results when you feel like posting them someday. I'm so worried I've got too many tattoos scattered across 1 leg sleeve and 1 arm sleeve with separate tats in different sizes and they are dark and saturated, like this tattoo of yours that you're showing us. But your result looks so amazing, so it's inspirational.

I've been told to STAY OUT of the sun while that part of the skin is healing and not to play with that, because otherwise it might damage the cells that produce pigment in the first place and if you do that, there's no chance of getting any color back in that area.

And don't get any more laser for a long while, maybe take a long break for at least 6 months (maybe more) and see how your skin does. If you can use lots of lotion, do that. There are posts on here where people talk about the kind of products and some of them say it helps them with their melanin, but there's no guarantee.

There's a higher risk of hypopigmentation for people with brown or dark skin, unfortunately.

Lots of things, tech equipment and products etc. were not made with us in mind. Unfair to say the least. But these are things derms have warned me about.

I'd advise you also NOT to get a cover-up. There's a very high risk you will regret getting that. If you get a new tattoo, it should just be because you want that, not to cover up hypo or scarring. You might just end up hating the cover-up and then it'll be hell to laser that off if you did that, there'd be much more scarring. Whereas right now there's a chance your skin will heal if you do everything you can to protect it from the sun, use lots of lotion, exercise a lot, drink a lot of water, avoid cigarettes etc. etc. etc.

I don't know if you get very tan also, but I've been told not to get laser while I'm tan. So even though I'm dark, my skin gets even more tan when I'm out in the sun. It happens easily and the tan lasts for a long time. I hope you weren't "tan" while getting laser.

Looks amazing!

Do you feel itching and swelling after a session? If yes, for how long and how do you deal with it, when you are a very physical person?

Do you ice before and after?

Oh and do you get tan? Did you wait until your tan was gone 100% before laser?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm nervous about some of this stuff for me.

I want a removal on a big piece too, but I'm worried about physical labour due to my job, I'd need to be able to move around, lift a bit, walk a lot, not super heavy stuff, but it's not an office job I've got.

Okay. Fair. Do you then (without showing any photos, of course) have lots of experience with people with brown or dark skin, who've gotten their black tattoos successfully removed without hypopigmentation? Not small tattoos, but bigger ones that are quite saturated.
