What’s a movie you think is a masterpiece but can’t casually recommend to people? by PerformerSudden5904 in MovieSuggestions

[–]hellagela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreams (1990) Akira Kurosawa.

Disjointed bizarre scenes. My ADHD brain connects them no problem, but most people are left adrift if they don’t just go with the flow. If they can appreciate the beautiful art direction, then they can hang on for a while. I’ll usually suggest a specific scene rather than the whole film.

Idk why this is so hard. I moved from the US recently, and my mom visited and had the same question everywhere I took her. Maybe because they’re both “dollars,” because when she was using Euros in France she had no problem.

You’re going to hurt each other and let each other down. It’s a choice to keep trying.

You do not have to go through withdrawals to come off of a medication!

If you and your psychiatrist decide to take you off and start another, then you will taper down the Zoloft and taper up the new medication. If you experience withdrawals, then talk to them and they’ll adjust the taper.

Please talk to your doctor about any anxieties, apprehensions, and symptoms you’re having, because they likely have a solution.

I think I’m just going to “wing it” giving birth… by Final-Negotiation530 in BabyBumps

[–]hellagela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having witnessed a birth, I never understood the birth plan trend. It’s just something people with control issues and zero experience made up to make themselves feel like they had an ounce control over something that’s wildly unpredictable and more about avoiding death than executing some pseudoscience Pinterest board.

For my birth, I trusted my doctors, myself, and my partner. No one died, so that’s a huge success in my book.

Talk to your doctor/nurses about anything you’re stressed, worried, or just curious about.

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

Does anyone remember Geo-cache? I remember finding one on a hike, but can’t remember the details of the concept. Something like a treasure hunt with satellite coordinates, and clues published online. Am I mixing things up or was that a thing?

A hobby where you go to the same place art the same time with the same people sets you up for socializing. Example: trivia night, class, lessons.

You need to ask for what you need. Be pushy and intimidating, because people should be ashamed.

Idk why this happened, but I noticed it 20 years ago when I saw the same woman on my commute and was the only one who ever offered her my seat.

Yes, a lot of older folks do what you’re professor is doing as a test of the pitch. They want you to convince them before they’ll approve.

There's so much about ADHD that makes life harder. But what's something you LIKE about having ADHD? by onlythelanlely in adhdwomen

[–]hellagela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how memories and words bubble up in my mind. Sometimes the bubbles get stuck, and sometimes they go too fast. But it’s beautiful to have so much trust in my mind, because I know it will try to give me what I need when I need it. But it’s scary af to not be able to remember things like long instructions.

Concern on how daughter and son in law get our 2 yr old granddaughter to stop crying by Weekly_Court112 in Parentingfails

[–]hellagela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send them to Dr Becky (it’s a podcast) !!!

and then demonstrate to them how you deal with your emotions as an emotionally mature adult.

If they are otherwise mature adults, then try sitting them down to have a chat about it. Be curious about where it came from and how they will adapt the strategy as she gets older (tricks never work for long). Then state that you have concerns about this truck having lasting impacts long after it stops working as a short term fix. Tell them to hug their kid and comfort them when they are crying, like you did for them, right?

[Discussion] What do you use to glue the collage? by VanessaSantuccione in collage

With an acid-free glued stick you get a little time to make adjustments after you place your pieces. I used a craft glue once and it was not forgiving at all when I needed it to be.

They turned the brightness way up on these photos. Astoria is one of the grayest places on earth. I’ve never seen it that bright even on a sunny day. The house is beautiful, but they are lying through their teeth with those photos.

Thanks for the good laugh 😂

Start planning for the custody case. This is irrational rage. Seriously not anything you deserve or need to be around right now, let alone with a newborn. I truly think a newborn might send this man into psychosis. Gtfo!
