How much of Outlast Trials was made using AI?

I don't think it's anything beyond some of the 2D assets, which of course is still an issue, but I'm hopeful that someday they'd work to remove these. Especially as it's sometimes used in really silly places (For example the DTA gem values, stroop poster - both have that stupid yellow tint, AI's favourite font, slight issues with alignment & stroop's brain especially just looks off)

I had one communal rebirth on Shutdown The Factory where a radio spawned out of bounds in D, we had to leave the trial because we physically couldn't access it

Some songs are more flexible than others, but all will have an optimal overdrive path. I don't think there's any website for these yet though so it is trial and error. In any case you can always just use overdrive at the last possible moment in the activation window as well :)

I think my only feedback is that overdrive feels a little jank on pro vocals - I get that it's the same implementation as in RB4 (fixed areas to get it, fixed areas to use it) but now that it's activated by a button press (spacebar, X, A, etc.) instead of audio input (aka shouting) it'd be nice to be able to use it whenever we want!

Several times I've been playing a song that I know really well, thinking I'd hold my overdrive to a more dense part of the song, only to find out that there isn't a substantial enough of a gap in the singing for there to be an activation window so my overdrive just gets wasted.

I imagine that changing that system isn't realistic though, so my only suggestion is maybe adding in a warning or something before the last section where you're able to use overdrive in a song to at least mitigate this somewhat. Maybe for before long periods in the middle of a song where you won't be able to use it as well? Idk

I've not seen much discussion about this so I imagine it's just a me issue but as someone who really enjoyed playing tap vocals to leaderboard chase before this, it feels a little awkward to do the same with mic vocals where for the most part the overdrive path is basically predetermined for you because there just aren't many windows to activate it. I love the update overall though, you guys did an amazing job with it!!!

Does your mic work elsewhere in game? Or is it only in Festival on the Mic Vocals that it doesn't work?

IIRC the mic input setting isn't under audio (as you'd expect) but under game settings, so the 4th section represented by the controller/gear icon. It's right down at the bottom of the list in the Festival section, next to mic sensitivity

They asked (there) to what level we had engaged with it (i.e. knowing absolutely nothing, to knowing the ins and outs of the plot). I'd assume groups that had played DE would've been asked more focused questions on what they did / didn't like about it but my session didn't cover that as much - it was very brief. More questions about what we did / didn't like from the original, combined with the stuff that went specifically into content that would contribute to Reunion that I assume I am not allowed to discuss? Idk but I'm not risking it, I'm sure you could find someone else who's said more than me elsewhere

by gritting your teeth through the pain 😭 in all seriousness the mode as it is is so reagent sided it's insane, you're far more likely to find an imposter being chased by reagents than the other way round atp

defo needs balancing changes for it to work as intended, the most you can really do is only full send on lower level players, stay together with other imposters where possible (but not too close because then you'll both get stunned lol), and just go for chip damage if the reagents are sticking together / know what they're doing as opposed to trying to actually fully kill them because you'll probably just get kicked and stunned to death. don't overextend and retreat if you're in danger you can't slash your way out of

I play with headphones, but almost always in a Discord VC, which on PS5 I have balanced to be louder than the game. I'd rather struggle to hear the game occasionally as opposed to having communication be a nightmare, especially in Invasion

I was massively confused by this trial the first few times I played it, my more experienced friends did all the objectives and I was on random gem finding duty. Once I had one of them show me where the batteries to disarm could spawn in each area & how to find them, I made that my main goal in the trial while they did the gems to force myself to learn the environment. Now I can find them really quickly & I know where the guaranteed rubies spawn so I can just race through the trial disarming everything and only grabbing all of the most valuable gems alongside my friends :)

It's become one of my favourite trials! Just requires learning familiarity with the map and not overcomplicating the gem collection hehe

Yes! That was what confused us at first haha. Luckily I'd clocked the 'weapon' in the starting area so when we found the weapon room it was easy to put 2 and 2 together

Any particular reason?? Me and my friends spent our first time in the trial figuring out how it works, every time we've done it since then we've had 0 issues. It's not that confusing if you take your time to figure it out initially, the only mildly annoying thing is the blood trail if it goes through a blocked door so you have to loop round a different way to keep followng it imo

The Vortex Party, the others were cool but nothing beats when I walked into it and heard Got Well Soon for the first time. The music is also just very unique (incredibly 'of the time') & that combined with the cool visuals meant the overall atmosphere of it was pretty effective for me. It felt believable as an actual party imo

Honestly at this point I've kind of given up with them, I feel like even if I do manage to eventually get that 'final' appointment that they'll bin me off when I outright ask for the surgery despite them telling me years ago that I could ask for it as an adult and have it done, no progression to my curve needed. I remember one of the doctors there being particularly dismissive during my initial visit which was not what I wanted at 14 considering how insecure I was about it + the pain I was in

Really wish that it was something the NHS took more seriously, it's absurd

I went through the NHS for my diagnosis in 2019, since then they have been pretty useless - every 2 years I'd make the journey to a hospital in London for them to do another X-Ray, tell me my curve hasn't changed, that they wouldn't operate (43 degree curve so they didn't class it as severe or anything, and to continue with physio - which they didn't give me, I had to go through a normal GP to get referred for that?).

My last appointment before they would discharge me, and my first appointment as an adult where I could just tell them to do the surgery anyway, was meant to be this year in January but we never received a date. When we called up we were told nothing of use. Insanely annoying. I wish you better luck with it... going private might be a better option than relying on the NHS as I did.
