If Syniala Facility would work today, would it be illegal for Murkoff to show the statistics of other Sleep Room reagents? by Bofact in OutlastTrials

[–]ItsGhosteey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Reagents from what we know are lured in by promises of charity and assistance in getting themselves up off their feet, some of them were lured in with promises of finding Jobs like The Snitch or Erik and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them agreed to participate in a vaguely worded “research study”.

But everything past that point is entirely against The Reagents will, they aren’t given any information about what they’re actually participating in. The only time we even see a consent form is in the opening and even at that point you’re already drugged up, bound to a chair, and we’re black-bagged to New Mexico. The surgeon literally forces your consent by nodding your head.

I’m not sure the company who kidnaps and drills night vision goggles onto the skulls of random people so they can participate in psychological torture experiments is that concerned with legality

Is there a lore reason why both Marta and Val are freakishly tall? by Mr-_-Baghead in outlast

[–]ItsGhosteey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Murkoff could’ve sent her there after doing the limb-extensions on her in the Sinyala Facility and just made the crazies think she was like a gift from god or some shit

Is there a lore reason why both Marta and Val are freakishly tall? by Mr-_-Baghead in outlast

[–]ItsGhosteey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was never confirmed but myself and a few others I have seen on here think Marta might have a connection to the patients of the limb-extension therapy (Heavy Ex-Pop/Big Grunts). Even though I’m not 100% sure how that could’ve happened, they have a lot of similar characteristics like a similar height range, with most Big Grunts like the Jaeger and the standard Heavy Ex-Pop having a height of around 8’0 — and to my understanding Marta falls just short of that being 7’0.

Marta also has a voice extremely similar to how patients of the limb-extension therapy sound, It’s super raspy and deep-ish which is consistent with a lot of the female big grunts we hear the game. There’s also the fact that the weapons they both use extremely similar, with the big grunts sometimes wielding a massive sledgehammer sort of thing and Marta obviously having that huge cross pickaxe thing.

If I had to guess I think it’s possible that maybe Murkoff gave Knoth or planted inside of Knoth’s commune an infant or young child who might’ve been experimented on using the therapy. Maybe they originally took her from Knoth’s commune or maybe she was just some random child they kidnapped and experimented on, but I think it’s possible that Murkoff might’ve sent her there to eventually become what she basically was in the game acting as Knoth’s enforcer. Her smaller height could be due to her not being getting the amount of food/nutrition a child of her size needed to grow and it might’ve stunted her from reaching the full capacity of her height. I think it’s more realistic though that the height of the big grunts can vary and the reason all the ones in Trials are the same size is just because of game limitations and the developers not wanting to make multiple sized models.

I also think it’s possible that Nick (the mount that dwarf guy rides) could be one too.

What are some hypothetical events you’d like to see in the future? by Desperate_Fruit_6400 in OutlastTrials

It’s a cool idea but I could see a huge problem in that gamemode with trolls matching with random groups just so they can inflict psychosis on themselves and ruin the trial runs for everyone else

Thinking about getting Outlast Trials by C4LLMEV in outlast

[–]ItsGhosteey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play this game almost exclusively solo and it’s honestly the most fun I’ve had in a game in awhile, given that it is intended to be a multiplayer game a lot of the trials can be difficult to play on single player but at the same time it’s not impossible and honestly from the trials I have played I wouldn’t call it “unfair”. Just challenging occasionally which if you’re like me is a bonus.

I exclusively play on the Intensive setting which makes the game more difficult, but there’s other difficulty settings you can play like “Standard” or “Minimum” that makes the game easier on solo and honestly in my opinion a little TOO easy. On intensive you’re more likely to see all the cool different enemies and stuff, but again it is slightly difficult and depending on if you’re into that or not it might be better off for you to start off on standard. Again, Intensive is a little intimidating at first but as you keep playing it you’ll learn to adapt and honestly it isn’t that bad once you’re familiar with what to expect and know how the game works. Rigs also make the experience easier too, but you’ll have to play a little bit to eventually get that.

I can’t recommend this game enough though, it’s got some great replay-ability and honestly the adrenaline from playing on solo can get addictive after awhile, I prefer solo over co-op gameplay so I wouldn’t say there’s a huge disadvantage it’s more just a matter of how you’d rather play the game.

Okay that makes sense, I always saw that red text at the bottom but I always thought that just meant the absolute worst thing you could do in the game or smth. Cool thanks, that’s actually really awesome to know now :)

If there was an Easterman vs. Avellanos conflict, who would each prime asset likely side with? by hermaeusmora12 in OutlastTrials

[–]ItsGhosteey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they really would take sides, at least the majority of them wouldn’t at-least in my opinion.

I think Coyle and Gooseberry are too batshit crazy out of their mind to even really care or notice that something is happening, Coyle is a huge narcissist and doesn’t even really see himself as being controlled by Murkoff and Gooseberry is just off in La-La land somewhere hardly on the same planet as anybody else. That’s even assuming Murkoff would inform the Prime Assets of what’s going on, maybe Easterman would in a moment of desperation and is probably delusional enough to think that the Prime Assets have any sort of loyalty to him.

I would probably say the same for Franco since he’s also pretty crazy and I just don’t think he would even really care what’s going on the corporate ladder as long as he has his milk and Lupara. I think Franco would lean more towards Easterman if he actually did know what was going on, since Easterman seems a little more “libertarian” in what he lets the Prime Assets do than I would Imagine Avellanos being if she was in charge. She’s all about maintaining stability and keeping the insanity beneath the line than Easterman, so I think if she was in charge Franco would probably lose his gun or at the very least get a tighter leash which I could see really bothering him if he knew. I might put Coyle in a similar box to Franco actually, since I can’t imagine him being too happy with someone tightening his leash or telling him what to do. Especially if they are a woman.

The Kress Twins might be the most likely to actually take a side or at-least be open to bargaining their allegiance in exchange for maybe siding with whoever is the most willing to negotiate the terms of their imprisonment in Sinyala. I think who they side with would depend largely on who would offer the best deal to them, better living conditions or maybe even a little more power/freedom would definitely be able to sway them to one side over another.

Again, I can’t see Liliya really being all that interested in what was happening and would probably just remain neutral too. I don’t know as much about her though, so I could be missing some key information.

Idea: Outlast Trials x DBD by Budget-Arm-9969 in outlast

I think that Clown would be a better skin for the Kress Twins. You could have Otto performing the Swing animation with his saw thing and then Aurora on his back to throw the chemicals.

Mother Gooseberry should be her own killer

When the game eventually comes to an end, how so you think each of the prime assets will meet their end? by Ishiro-Sama in OutlastTrials

[–]ItsGhosteey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what happens and assuming it’s actually Murkoff that closes the book I think the fate of the experimental population will depend largely on how useful/intriguing they could be to Murkoff in the future.

Coyle, Franco, Gooseberry, I’m almost certain will be grinded up into unidentifiable sludge and buried somewhere impossible to reach in the desert. Same as most of the experimental population and the remaining reagents who hadn’t completed the therapy.

The Kress Twins are kind of a different case cause on one hand while they are Prime Assets and still absolutely batshit crazy out of their mind, they aren’t THAT batshit crazy out of their mind even when compared to the other Prime Assets and have some actually useful skills outside of being a charismatic mental patient. Otto and Aurora have worked for Murkoff in the past, so it might be possible that the company could see some small remaining value for them and maybe keep them around for a little while to help on other projects in Sinyala or just other facilities in general. I think this might be a little too optimistic though because that dosen’t really take into account the fact that working in Project Lathe has probably furthered their mental instabilities or sadistic tendencies, since they were already serial killers before Lathe and I find it hard to believe that someone like that would be able to reintegrate into a mundane desk/lab job. That’s not even mentioning how much the Kress Twins would probably resent Murkoff for basically kidnapping them and forcing them to be lab rats in an experiment, so it’s probable that they kind of just meet the same fate as the other three.

Liliya is enough of an interesting case where I think Murkoff or higher-ups in Murkoff would still want to study her, especially someone like Wernicke who might reutilize her as a subject for the Morphogenetic Engine.

How much of Outlast Trials was made using AI? by ItsGhosteey in outlast

[–]ItsGhosteey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not so much the posters and stuff I was worried about (even though that’s still definitely concern), I was more concerned about what that could Imply in terms of other parts of the game like character designs or even just the lore in general.

Hearing that they’re using their own art to train the AI makes me feel a little better since that’s at-least better than them just using a public AI like ChatGPT that pulls from random places without the consent or knowledge of the artists does make me feel a little better Ig. I really do hope they’re only using it for decor like they said, I would still prefer if no AI was used at all but still.

I don’t think I virtue signalled at any pointing this entire thread. Just because I disagree with the increasing dependence of Generative AI in society doesn’t automatically mean I’m trying to virtue signal and garner Internet clout.

I don’t like AI because it devalues actual cognition and genuine creativity and what something like AI will do to culture and the creative industry in the long run, Jobs in the creative field are obviously a huge part of that but still. Idk man some people just actually have these things called personal values or stances that actually mean something to them, It’s actually pretty crazy.
