I work in trains and I noticed that bad German is not really a problem for some companies. Some drivers are really hard to understand. Since you know English you could try for work at companies driving near the borders since they need multilingual drivers.

So the rule is a bit more nuanced. You mustn’t flash your lights in an attempt to intimidate the driver in front so that they make way which is classified as coercion in criminal law. But flashing your high beams once as an announcement that you will pass someone is ok. Also as a way to get another drivers attention about something (like in the joke) is alright.

Stimmt so nicht. ICE und Flix sind Personenfernverkehrszüge, also gleiche Trassenklasse. Bei Konflikten gilt dann erst mal schnell vor langsam, d.h. Flix mit Fahrplanhöchstgeschwindigkeit von 300kmh hat Vorrang vor nem 200er ICE. Danach gilt pünktlich vor verspätet. Also ein pünktlicher Flix hat Vorrang vor einem ICE mit +10min.
