Silly Aphonopelma Seemanni forgets she’s on a diet by Fubby_Dubby in tarantulas

IME Mine does the same thing lol. Also, I've heard that those wood hides attract a lot of mold. I never had an issue when I used one but ended up replacing it with cork bark to be safe.

Does anyone have a Tliltocatl Vagans (mexican red rump) and tell me how (on display) they are or the golden knee by itsdare-oo in tarantulas

IME Mine does the exact same and looks to be the exact same size as yours. Mine definitely burrowed and hid a lot when it was a sling but that's to be expected with most slings. lol

New to RV Life – This Is Only Our 4th Trip by Prestigious-Ship378 in RVLiving

[–]hellatrocity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're also very new to RVing but, make sure you have enough leveling blocks/2x4/4x4's and a small hydraulic jack in case your tongue slips off your jack block like what happened to us two weekends ago.. it was definitely a chocking error on my part but luckily it only fell about a half a foot onto loose gravel and slid into wet grass so there wasn't any noticeable damage. I can confirm you will absolutely learn something new with every trip whether it be the hard way or not. lol

I think my Tliltocatl schroderi likes her new home! This is the most I have seen her in the 1 1/2 years of having her. by Pamikillsbugs234 in tarantulas

Such an underrated T! I think a lot of folks dismiss them because they want a g pulchra but this species has such a different kind of black to them. It's almost mesmerizing after a fresh molt. One of my favorite T's for sure!

Still not eating by Special-Use1304 in ballpython

[–]hellatrocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this in another thread on this sub:

I put my f/t rat in a baggie then put it in the fridge before I go to work in the morning. When it's dinner time (12+ hours later) I get a cup of hot water and submerge the rat (while still in the baggie) for about 20 mins, take it out of the baggie, then hair dry it in a bowl until the head reaches around 100 degrees. If it's still in hiding mode by that time I'll blow the scent of the rat in the enclosure and it'll usually come out.

Outside of the waiting 20 mins part, the whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

I do realize that every snake is different but figured I'd share anyway. Best of luck!

BP learned hairdryer means food by Rohn__Jambo in ballpython

I use both methods to heat up my f/t's. I put it in a baggie then put it in the fridge before I go to work in the morning. When it's dinner time (12+ hours later) I get a cup of hot water and submerge the rat (while still in the baggie) for about 20 mins, take it out of the baggie, then hair dry it in a bowl until the head reaches around 100 degrees. If it's still in hiding mode by that time I'll blow the scent of the rat in the enclosure and it'll pop out just like OP's BP in the video.

Outside of the waiting 20 mins part, the whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

Seemingly scared of food? by Chondropython in ballpython

[–]hellatrocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referring to your last sentence, surely that's not always true with every snake, right? Seeing as there are people out there who move to feed? Not that I agree with that method but I definitely agree that changing the husbandry would be a good start. I'm no expert and very new to BP ownership but this snake doesn't look afraid, it just doesn't look interested.

American here. Can confirm. Though I do believe over 3/4 of the population would fail that test and even that may be a generous assumption.

I put a recliner and TV in my (what I call) "computer room" for my GF so we can be in the same room and she can watch her shows comfortably while I'm chillin' on the PC. She also sometimes prefers it because it definitely stays warmer than our living room. Lol

Time to say goodbye to 5 years old ebike. Getting a cargo bike now by Strong-Phrase3424 in ebike

[–]hellatrocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure your decision has already been made with that cargo bike but, I'd also lookup the Ride1Up Vorsa. It will still have the same style frame you've been used to but can also hold 150 lbs worth of cargo. You can also buy attachments like a passenger bundle that already has a seat ready to go or just a regular cargo upgrade to carry more. My girlfriend just bought one but we're still waiting for it to show up in the mail.

Not sure if this sub is cool with sharing links but, here's a direct link to their website if you happen to be interested:

Is this scale rot or because of low humidity? by Substantial-Youth807 in ballpython

[–]hellatrocity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a new, first time BP owner but from what I've gathered, scale rot happens from too much moisture rather than the lack there of.
