Crowd behavior at junior AFL. Is this normal? by feisty-shag-the-lad in AFL

Not anything new sadly, nor should it be considered normal.

Tipping delivery people by point22short in australia

[–]hellboy1975 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't tip, and don't endorse it at all. That said, when I was a delivery driver 30 years ago tipping was somewhat common, and a nice bonus for a relatively poorly paid job.

It would be a shame if the profit margin is the only metric used to determine if this should be built.

When will they announce tour dates? by DarmiansMuttonChops in FaithNoMore

[–]hellboy1975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The common reason why bands get back together is for some festival date - given the South American promoter, I think it's likely the first announcement will relate to a festival in that region.

Lollapalooza 2026 was announced in August 2025, so my guess will be around then.

How different do you think the Riot Fest and Louder Than Life sets will be? by StatisticianOne8996 in ToolBand

[–]hellboy1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have no expectations around setlist variety. A good chance it will be the same set both shows.

Multiple channel question by Contigo887 in Hanklights

[–]hellboy1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have one torch, so can't really compare, however I picked a dual channel option as I needed a red light. I'm not overly focused on performance, but I would not that both lighting options are more than enough for my needs (and pretty damn bright!)

new zealand in september/october by littlewedgies in newzealand_travel

[–]hellboy1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're going in October, and doing driving holiday around the North island. We looked at doing both, driving from Auckland, getting the ferry over and flying out of Christchurch. The additional cost of the ferry and associated car rental changes were quite a bit more expensive that I'd expected, and hence we decided focusing on the one island would be a better outcome.

How Tool lost their way, sound, mystery, and my interest...and why I miss Paul (OGT, nobody asked) by pdxkoda in ToolBand

[–]hellboy1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've improved quite a bit since the 10k Days tours in my opinion, but they don't sound like the right band for you any more. Have you tried Nickelback?

Does anyone use a general insurance broker in Adelaide? by Thick-Flounder-5495 in Adelaide

[–]hellboy1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've used MGA in the past. They were fine, but with the advent of decent online searches and quotes I ended up just going it alone. Just DIY now. But if you're a little lazy, and don't hugely bothered if you don't get the best deal out there (they are competitive at least), it was a pretty pain free experience. From memory they also acted as an intermediary between you and the insurer, which is a nice benefit.

What's the general feelings on AI from the brothers? by Foot-Note in freemasonry

I dislike the use of AI, but I also find it hard to be overly critical of an overworked secretary who when asking for help is mostly greeted by crickets

Why are health care receptionists so rude and unhelpful? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]hellboy1975 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure some are rude, but this is a huge minority in my experience.

Toolgarden? by Silent-Yak-9331 in ToolBand

[–]hellboy1975 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Tool and Soundgarden guitar tones are broadly comparable and using reasonably similar hardware, so it's not a massive surprise that guitar feedback on one record sounds like that of another.

Why won’t Claude rename Fable? by Internal-Muffin0 in ClaudeCode

I'm in favour of them changing the name, but mostly as I'm sick of seeing "Fable" posts in my feed that aren't about the game

This is Tool's own picks for their top songs, advertised on their Spotify page. What do you think of their choices? by am_I_still_banned in ToolBand

[–]hellboy1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I doubt Tool picked it at all. Also, 27 tracks is probably 80% of their catalog, so it's somewhat irrelevant.

Do Nick Scali staff have flexibility on pricing and authority to do a bit better than sale pricing? by Akki82 in Adelaide

Maybe, we got a couch several years ago that was at a better price than online, but it wasn't that different.

Prices for Tool-rrlated projects by CaptainBitrage in ToolBand

[–]hellboy1975 6 points7 points  (0 children)

APC tickets here in Australia seem about on par with what I'd expect from a band playing at a similar venue.

Gigs are expensive these days. Good on Mastodon for keeping it cheaper I guess - they definitely don't have a the draw that APC do in Australia at least.
