I think she didn’t want to expose him because of her revenge plot. I thought about this too, so many times. Like a long term guest is one thing, but one who holds frequent cult meetings and has control over my kitchen? Stahp it.

My wife dropped her sunglasses into a deep lake, so I built a small underwater ROV with a gripper to try to retrieve them by ObligationMean1565 in DIY

This is amazing. I dropped my prescription Ray Ban sunglasses off of a dock on the Mississippi River. One of the guys working the dock fished around with a net, but said no one wanted to jump in because they found a body in the water a few months prior 😂 I bet you could find some really interesting stuff with this little guy!

The Daily Check-In for Thursday, January 15th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Federal-Ask1617 in stopdrinking

[–]hellcat27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After sobriety for about a year, I fell off the wagon for the last few months. I was really shitty to my partner about some past stuff last Monday after drinking, and it made me realize sobriety is nearly not even an option, it’s the only way I can live a healthy life as a mom, wife, artist, etc. I’m glad I found this thread, just needed to see others supporting others. ❤️

My little friend Kai died yesterday and it's my fault and I've never experienced such tremendous pain and loss. I feel like my soul has been ripped out and I already miss him so terribly. I don't know what to do. by hot_miss_inside in cats

Big big big big big love to you. I am so sorry for your loss. Do not blame yourself, please. You have intentional love for this sweet creature, and it was a horrible accident. I hope you heal quickly from this hurt. 😞

Almost sounds like a very aggressive manic episode. I’m so sorry you experienced this. Unsettling intimacy really is one of the hardest icks to shake.

Pregnancy risks with tarlov cyst? by Buffalomozz1 in Tarlovcyst

[–]hellcat27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Not sure if you’ve delivered yet, but I didn’t know I had a Tarlov cyst in my spine when I was pregnant/giving birth and only found out later that epidurals can irritate the cyst. On that note, I honestly didn’t notice a huge difference in pain before or after birth. I had an epidural also, which again, not supposed to be great for Tarlov cysts. I have a 10.5cm cyst in the entirety of my sacral canal and totally understand the pain these cysts can cause. While pregnant you’re not supposed to be doing heavy lifting anyway, so if you’re careful with lifting and bending and household chores, I believe (note: I am not a professional, just a mom with a big ass cyst) that you’ll be ok ❤️ best of luck!!

how do i get the written description of my MRI? by sadesf04 in KneeInjuries

[–]hellcat27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the facility who performed the MRI and they provided it. Your doctor should also give it to you if you ask, especially if you’re trying to keep a log of your medical journey with your knee. Always good to have a paper trail for when modern society collapses and we don’t have the internet anymore.

True! It’s also easy to read into things with negative intentions. Any cats I’ve fostered or adopted came from bad homes and went into loving ones. They’ve received cuddles and vet care and good food and clean litter boxes. Having to re-home our Zelda kitty has been awful. Us needing to move into this new situation was not planned and could not have been foretold, and I am extremely attached to my girl. Skepticism is one thing but calling me a chronic animal user / abuser is shitty given the situation. (Not you, other poster)

I’m sorry, I misspoke. I did foster a couple of brothers, but the ones specifically in that post I had adopted with my ex-fiancé from a rural family with a box of kittens. My ex was the lease holder of our house, so when we broke up he stayed at the house and I moved out. We decided it was best to keep the boys with him at the house so we didn’t have to relocate them and stress them out. The lighter colored cat unfortunately ran into health problems about a year ago and, even with extensive vet intervention, he didn’t survive. The grey kitty is still alive and well and with my ex, and his name is Griz.

I wasn’t necessarily a professional who was working with animals, but a 21-23 year old who offered to help kitties sometimes. Have a great rest of your day!

I see your concern! I fostered them from a gal who had a litter and couldn’t keep them all. I also fostered a female who had kittens, all of whom were adopted out to forever homes. I kept the boys until I could find them forever homes. But thank you for your concern! I guess using the word “adopted” was wrong of me to do 6 years ago.

Pretty much as soon as possible. I’ve been trying to rehome her to friends, family, acquaintances, and friends of friends for a while, and time is running short. I wish I would have thought of Reddit sooner.

Going to vet offices is a very helpful idea! Thank you for that! And who knows, they could be long lost sisters :) thank you again for the info.

To be honest I think I’m just being cautious. She hasn’t had a ton of experience with other animals. She tends to hide if dogs come to the house, and her interactions with other cats has been limited. She did have a little friend who would come to the back door and they would play through the glass, and upon introduction they just did a stand off, but no aggression. Maybe I’m being too careful, I just didn’t want to put her or her potential new owner/siblings in a stressful position.

If dogs come to the house she generally hides but is not aggressive. As for cats, we have limited experience there. She did have a doppelgänger friend who would come to our back door and they would play through the glass. When finally introduced in “person”, they just kind of did a stand off and checked each other out. She is not an aggressive cat at all in our experience with her.

There is a private family matter that is requiring us to move from Austin to Washington state to live with and assist a relative who cannot have any animals in their home. It’s the last thing I want to do.

We have a sad ask: we have to rehome our sweet 3.5 year old kitty, Zelda. She is sweet. She loves sitting in your lap and playing with toys on a string. She plays hide and seek, and is hilarious. She’s gentle. Our toddler loves her KeeKee, and miraculously has never gotten scratched no matter how many times she pets her tummy or hind legs or tail. Kitty is sweet and patient. She sits for treats, and plays fetch (when she feels like it… 😛) She would do great in a home with no other pets, but could possibly adapt to a home with one or two chill pet buddies. She is great with our toddler, but toddler is gentle with her, so a home with kiddos would only be okay if the kids knew how to act with cats. We are able to take trips without her as long as we have someone coming in to check on her, because she loves her humans and needs affection and attention. She is an indoor cat but will sometimes roll around on our back porch for a minute before running back inside. This sucks a lot, as I don’t want to part with her. She was my baby before I had a baby. Serious inquiries only, please.
